New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

My initial thoughts are that this is a special stadium

The big screens are really good

The sound system is so much better

The seats are comfy and there’s plenty of leg room

I was sat in the 52nd row in the north stand near the back and I thought it might be too far away from the pitch but it’s not. It’s looks far from the pitch in pictures but in real life it’s not. It’s a lot closer than you think.

The away fans are very lucky and have been treated very nicely with their seating section

Only issue was that I couldn’t get an internet signal

I’m exited for our first competitive match

My observations:

Took the 939 shuttle bus (of which there was 4) from Bootle Strand. Derby Road was gridlocked just past Balliol Road because someone had decided that closing the dual carriageway down to one lane either side was a good idea. It only encouraged traffic to put their foot down once the lights changed to go. Watching people stream over the dual carriageway from Sandhills looked very dodgy.

Heading down Boundary Road towards stadium:

First impressions. The stands feel a lot more steep and tall than what the videos and photos show. It feels very tight to the pitch and it will be intimidating for the opposition. The acoustics are loud. The lower North stand concourse was like sardines at half-time. The evacuation was pretty smooth.

It's not Goodison. It has it's own thing going on. It's amazing.

We might need Goodison next season unless there is a miraculous change in transport infrastructure around the ground.

Struggling to cope with 50% of the stadium capacity and no away fans.
Yikes, (un) fortunately I'll be visiting next season via lime Street station and walking there and back. Not even considering any transportation thank goodness

Think it said in the pre-match information that the WiFi infrastructure isn’t ready yet so hopefully that will make things better.

BTW, I drove down and parked off Sylvester St, didn't wanna get too close.
Easy to find a speck there and roughly 15 min walk down.
No hassle at all.
I'd be keeping these parking specs to myself🤣 Everyone will say stuff Sandhills and Public transport

Good to hear mate👍 I'd have thought that'd be in the new restricted zone. Great if it stays like this.

The sound system was awful in the North Stand.
