New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Feel free to remove as its RS related.
But thought it worthwhile posting - the longer we 'standstill' the more difficult it will be to catch-up
Admittedly a ground on the docks should be the good to place for events, but if you've got your foot in the door early like the RS, you become established.

Bizarre that it's been approved - it's not a suitable stadium shape for concerts like the Etihad is - and the surrounding area will be badly impacted when it happens. People get more drunk during concerts (constant ale being sold) than at football.

Having concerts in residential areas is asking for trouble. Poor transport links too.

Bit biased, but BMD will be a lot better.

All the more reason why the new stadium should have had a roof to make it multi use.

nea about the echo arena.

Roughly speaking how many big open air concerts might there be in the north west of England any given summer? I don't think it's a huge amount, although it would be nice for this part of the world to take a few from Manchester.

Dan Meis suggested the price of a roof is enormous. Would be nice though. Bit chilly down there in winter. Nor even that warm in July.

Will it though? Surely a different market? We need a bigger indoor arena or a stadium with a roof, which sadly ain't happening even when BMD does get built. Unless, plans have been redone.

The Echo struggles to attract events which utilise the whole arena - they opt for Manchester

They'll still get Disney on ice and Fast and Furious.

so the neighbours get to employ a nominally titled events officer and rent in a few wheelie bins, and that gets them planning for change of use? I suspect we may not have as easy a ride. There is a major legal confrontation every spring in Dublin where the local residents block Croke Park trying to stage 4-5 concerts each summer. They are invariably bought off but its quite the headache for the GAA who own it each year. No such issue for our neighbours

Croke Park has permission for a set number of concerts every year
It’s when they try to put on more that the problems arise as in the Garth Brooks fiasco
Give the neighbours a year to build a case and future events may not happen so easily at the pit
