Fully agree. Stadium capacity of 61,878 - lower the ticket prices & bring more in. See it as an investment in getting more fans in at an early age. Add to that the additional tourism etc i'd be happy with that.

Hell - even if we have a 10k tier around the top which we can close off & hide if we can't fill it.

Hopefully the club won't stick to these short-sighted and unambitious plans.

Now that's not a fair comparison.

Not sure what the population of Liverpool has to do with our new stadium. Though I read only a day or two ago that the population is up to 550,000 and increasing. However it's a totally narrow-minded view to think of our support just to come from the city region. Even so new grounds have new stadium 'bounce'.

From Everton's perspective, the new ground simply has to rival and match our 'competitors'. Top 6 whatever. Tottenham have set the bench mark Everton must not only match it but better it.

What's the point of that? Capacity stays the same just modernizing the stadium and putting a fancy screen and roof on for half a billion euros. More money than sense.

How could it the site had not then been established and BK et al still had a big chunk of the shares.

Ringfence the finance? It was always agreed his shareholding would rise. And a new stadium has always been in the plan so no surprise there.
