As I've said all along: they have a very different agenda here to Roma.

You dont bleed your flagship company, you subsidise it if necessary.

They'll see a lot more headroom that can be moved into quickly at Roma. Everton is one of those investments that can generate cash to attract interest down the line.

TFG will see their Roma and Everton investments are on completely different tracks IMO.
When they took over Roma they had a big team in a league that had potential to increase tv money, and had plans for a new stadium that would give them a boost to their financial health. The problem with getting plans for a stadium and getting it built means that new stadium is very far on the horizon and so too any boost to the clubs bank account that would help them invest on the field.

They`ve got their hands on Everton, a team in the richest league around, with a brand new state of the art stadium ready to start increasing they clubs revenue, at a time when a couple of the "big 6" are slipping up allowing for other clubs to take a top 4 slot.

Might be that they have a lot more work to do at Roma to make it into a flagship club, while at Everton they just need to get the team on the field getting it right and they will have their flagship club at the top of the sport.

Congratulations, davek is the first and hopefully only one in my ignore list. He is either clinically depressed or here to wind people up. I hope it's the latter in which case ignoring him is the right thing to do. He has 0 useful input in any thread here. He just invents stuff up that makes the club look as bad as possible. Latest messages are a case in point: he somehow knows what Friedkin's are planning to do with Everton and it's of course to bleed the club dry. Because I guess investors only buy companies to do that.

It's like coming up with the idea we are linked to some [Poor language removed] player for 30 million even though it has not been reported anywhere, not even the worst blarg sites and then getting upset about it and telling how stupid our transfer policy is.

And then repeating this day after day after day, many times every day.

Not sure you’ve called this right @davek, looking at the relative leagues and their status, I think they stand to make a better return on any investment at Everton than they will at Roma.

For me, they have to make us competitive and relevant on the pitch before they can make any money back, so that means investment in a club and team that’s been on life support for years.
Spaffed best part of a billion quid sorting our mess out but they're only here to fleece us.

Ignore the cantankerous orange, he's like our very own Donald Trump.

People need to think hard about this: they're not here to spend money, they're here to take it.
There is some truth in this, but they can only take money out of the club if it is making money, otherwise they are just taking back out what they have already put in. It's quite simply the whole point of investors, putting money into something so it is able to become more successful, more profitable and worth more money than you paid for it. People will point at the Glazers and their example of stripping ManUre of cash, which is true but ManUre where a cash cow when they took them over and still generate more money a year than most clubs, that model is simply not an option at Everton if they are going to get a return on their investment.

I think he's mellowed a bit actually.

Yes, but they have a quicker route to success via Roma.

Yeah, because history tells us that owners of Everton should be trusted.

Keep taking the Kool Aid.

Wait'll you see your season ticket prices in the coming years...and the price of all the gear and services they force on fans.

Then Dave you simply stop buying you're tickets if you can't afford them, let you're feet do the talking. Let me tell you why, when the Friedkins see a half empty stadium, still to be fully paid for, we are not a global brand like our neighbours, we suddenly won't have fans landing from airways taking the place of our loyal fans like Liverpool do with regularity any time soon. I actually think these are here for the long term, they are Professionals and unlike Moshiri know what they are doing. I could be wrong, let's wait and see a bit, instead of spreading scare stories pulled from you're backside, show a bit of patience.

...or taken in the best light - make it!
But on the other hand, if there's money to be made - and thus...allegedly... removed, that takes a consistently successful team.

No owner is going to get 'real' rich just on expensive £12.75 chicken strips

I’m sure they’re fully aware of the investment opportunities around the new stadium, naming rights of said stadium and how television deals compare with the Italian leagues. I’d be surprised if they risk those investments by not putting money into the footballing side of things.

Marc Watts piece in the FT

On the pitch, the ambition was to build a team that Evertonians were “very proud of”, according to Watts, with the Friedkins rehiring David Moyes for his second stint as club manager and planning to inject extra funds this year and next to improve the squad.

The Everton men’s team has not won a major trophy since the FA Cup in 1995, and the last of the club’s nine league titles came in 1987. Under the new owners the goal is to return to winning ways by focusing on fans, the economics of the team and making effective use of the stadium.

“Our ambitions are to pay attention to that and we think success on the pitch will follow,” Watts said. “And we hope sooner rather than later.”
