Let's be clear, I think the women's team deserves a good ground, but I don't think Goodison is the right fit. Maybe for a few years, but I can't see it as a long term solution.

Goodison is big and the costs to operate and maintain are large. Where the women's game is going and where it is are not the same place; Goodison can't be that bridge without huge investment from TFG, both in the ground and in the women's team. If that's what they're committed to doing, then maybe it works, but I'm still hesitant.

Ignoring financial wizardry (ie, sleight of hand for PSR benefit), which is always a short-term gain, there isn't much reason to continue operating Goodison in its current state. Maybe you could rebuild it smaller and newer over a multi-year period.

But primarily, I think losing the Goodison Legacy Project is a big loss for the city of Liverpool and the neighborhood around Goodison. I'm a huge believer in EITC and that part of the club's brand, and I think it goes beyond Moyes spouting "the People's Club" in a press conference. Of course, if there's no funding secured for the legacy project then it's still an idea, but it's a good idea and it's an idea very much worth pursuing. If TFG aren't going to continue this idea (which they're not bound by, it wasn't their idea) on the grounds of cost, I can't see them improving Goodison either.

Choosing Goodison to house the women's team feels like punting both on a better place for the women's team and the best possible outcome for Goodison.

Not keen on this, to be honest. Nothing to do with it being the women’s team etc, I’d be equally unhappy if it was the u 21s, academy etc. We’ve spent all season building up to moving and Goodison “going”. “The last game under the lights”, “the last 3 o’clock game”, “the last goal” etc etc. My preference was for the gates to be locked after the Soton game and it to be knocked down having had its last game played there with a community asset being built in its place. I get there may be a commercial reason for this but anyone thinking we’ll get away with what Chelsea have is in dreamland. The PL would hit us like a ton of bricks if we chanced our arm on something like that. Got to be honest, it’s took the edge off us leaving Goodison for me. It will still exist. Just without us there.

This is almost exactly where I sit on it as well. It feels sad to me that Goodison may be remembered in 10-15 years by some other form than what I remember. Yes, it is correct the women's team deserve a place of their own, and it should be able to house them and the growing game, Im just not sure Goodison is it, or at least, Im not quite sure that location is correct.

I was a huge fan of the legacy project. The fact that we were going to continue to provide for the community 24/7 on a grander scale than what we have previously. The plan was to house one of Europe's most advanced dementia research and treatment facilities, in one of the most deprived areas of the UK. Truly game changing stuff for the community.

Social care provision, assisted living for people of all disabilities. Sounds great to me.

If these Americans have got the dough they say they have, they'll continue that and provide a fitting stadium for the Women's team and others, maybe even on Nelson dock and create a Camp Ev, similar to the Camp Nou.

I haven't seen any announcement other than the press release, is there any specific information on this? I still maintain it's a net loss, even though it's a benefit to the women's team.
Well I think It’s pretty clear that Goodison as it stands is unsuitable.

The focus of the feasibility study will be to see what needs to be changed to make it work.

We might as well wait and see what the club comes up with.

I don't think I'm in favour of this. A re-development that would accommodate the women's team at a scaled value, together with some hybrid community facilities might be an optimal solution, but I don't think the space is there for that.

There is no harm at all in doing a feasibility study, but at this point I'd prefer to let The Old Lady rest in peace and live in history. It just seems a bit too sentimental to me.

I think Goodison is an outstanding opportunity for us as club to raise the profile of the women's game.

A historic first for the women's game and keep the legacy of Goodison alive.

Obviously it needs redevelopment and we can use it as part of Everton School and Mental Health centre which would require government investment.

Crap that the legacy project isnt happening. Would have been wonderful for the community around there.

Giving it the ladies team is a good idea but also they're gonna be playing games in a stadium with 35k empty seats at best. Would need to be reduced capacity.

If it happens that Goodison is modified for the women's team I'm sure it would also be used by the U21's and pull in a few thousand locals.
Whatever happens I hope they reduce the height of the Street End and let those poor sods on the opposite side have a bit of daylight

This is what we could have won.
