New Contract For Agard – News Archive – News – evertonfc.com – The Official Website of Everton Football Club

Kieran Agard has signed a new two-year deal at Everton.
The striker, now 19, has progressed through the Everton ranks after joining from Arsenal as a 16-year-old.
He was named on the substitutes bench for the first team on three occasions last season.
Agard was prolific for the Blues' Under-18 side after his arrival and soon moved into the reserve squad. He was the second string's player of the season last term.
The pacy frontman travelled with the first-team squad to Switzerland last summer and now has the chance to stake his claim again this pre-season.
"I'm absolutely delighted," he told evertonTV with the ink still drying on his deal.
"Two years is a good amount of time to show what I can do and hopefully I can give the manager food for thought.
"It was great to be named Reserve Player of the Year last season and I've had time to go away and reflect with my family on the good bits and bad bits.
"I know what I need to do and I'm looking forward to it."

Always baffled how little this lad is mentioned. Always stood out for me when I've watched the reserves.

Have high hopes for the lad.

Must be doing something right not to be thrown out with the rest.

Thank's for not naming this thread "breaking news" and getting everyone's hearts racing by the way (y)

Hopefully another youth academy player who can make the break through. The more the merrier, I say.(y)

Agree, hate those bastards who do that.:D

Same sort of story with Baxter, Moyes seems to be trying to keep them under-wraps as much as possible, more important than ever that we don't lose our best & brightest with these new 'home-grown' rules coming into play.

19 now and the incumbent Reserve Player of the Year - another good excuse to flog Anichebe.

I suspected the same Scot with regards to Baxter.

The reluctance to field him at times made me suspect if he is avoiding a Wayne Rooney scenario of too much, too soon were it could quickly go to their head. A bit of time for perspective and perspective.

The other reason of course is that he is crap.

Apparently they want him to fill out abit more, don't think he's physically up to it at the moment. He's got the ability though.

Says to me that either:

This kid has something about him
or
Moyes is worried about bringing in more striker cover

Because he doesn't usually keep people around that he doesn't need or rate. Especially the youth, he's shown this many times.
