I would say that 40m is a realistic valuation , I think at this stage they will probably both be sold.
The media have this story firmly between their teeth and usually when they do they have information that something is going on.

Unless Baines has said to Martinez that he'd like a chance at united for champs league or whatever, then there's no way we should accept 15m for him. We don't owe them anything and they're filthy rich compared to us. if he's happy here but they still want to take our best player this late in the window then its gotta be the upside of 18-20m.

We have to remember Moyes doesn't get desperate and will go into the season with no signings.
I'm not sure thats the case at united. No signings to boost the team would invite pressure straight away. Especially as their midfield is rank average.

Cabaye's valued at the same level as Baines? Not in my universe.

Best LB in europe? £2m is the starting bid please. Better than Johnson who the RS paid £19m for, if there is going to be comparisons between McCarthy & Henderson being £20m, then i'll use that one, thanks very much Mr Moyes.

The media today in some places recon DM has blown it with the insulting first offer then those crass comments!

40 mill seems fair to me. I don't want to lose Baines but if it means getting that much for Felli as well then it's a done deal. Felli 18mill Baines 22 mill seems OK.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm always baffled that people don't rate Felli as a 30 mil + player. His stats, and more importantly, my eyes, tell me he's worth a shed load more than 18 mil. I fear he'll be the player that when he does go, his value will increase and we'll realise just how important he was to the team.

I just can't see how both players aren't worth 55-60 mil +, especially in todays market

Just refuse to sell Baines. It's that simple. He won't kick up a stink either way, and no one will ever pay half of what he's worth to us.

Fellaini, minimum of £25m. I think we have to pay some of that to Liege so after that plus the fact that we paid add-ons, we'd barely make a profit -- which is outrageous considering how much he's come on. Even £30m for him isn't a super deal for us, so £25m has to be the minimum.

Basically, though I'd prefer not to sell either.

I think I'm going to have the clock from 24 constantly beeping until the window shuts to further the tension.

...The following takes place between August 26th and September 3rd.
