:D For all those people that complained about Cahill going on international duty and saying Australia were a [Poor language removed] footballing country, you may now wipe that egg off your face. The Dutch were almost at full strength and we were missing several key players. South Africa here we come!!!!

very good win there, moore!

i don't recall people saying the aussies were [Poor language removed], but i watched their last tournament- the asian championships and they were woeful.

who is in your W/C Q group?

Thanks mate, yeah the AFC was depressing but after the WC in Germany alot of people expected us to win it before a ball was kicked. Umm i beleive its Qatar, Japan, Bahrain and Uzbekistan. I think we will finish second behind Japan. But hopefully we get a lil revenge against them for AFC exit. We need Cahill and Viduka back.

There a few young ones coming through...Jade North, Joel Griffiths etc, our National comp "A-League" which would probably compare to second division in England has just expanded so hopefully in a few years time we will have a good young crop.

Not the quality of your Kewells and Cahills, but there are a few decent players on the horizon.

Vanstratten at Juve;
Beauchamp, Kennedy Spiranovic and Vidosic at Nurnberg;
Wesolowski, Henderson and Kisnorbo at the Foxes;
Carney at Sheffield Utd;
Srjoh and Mckain at Timisoara
Mitchell, Baird, Rose and Dilevski at FC Universitatea

Home based, players like Nathan Burns, Tallon Martin, Tommy Oar, Michael Zullo, Robbie Kruse, Simon Cataranzo, Joel Allwright, Hamlet Armenian, Lachlan Cahill, Shannon Cole, Matt Nash, Fabio Delizia, Adam Sarota, Kaz Patafta (the next Cahill apparently), Michael Marrone, and James Sherman will look to step up in the next few years.

you guys got robbed in the last world cup against Italy.

:@, if there is one country that i hope never wins anything ever again it would be them. Dont get me wrong, im not gonna say if we would have beaten them we would have went on to win but yeah that day was a very very sad/drunk day.

Not really... I lived in Oz for 3 years recently and he wasn't highly thought of over there.

He's already 24 and he wouldn't get a match if Cahill, Bresciano or about half a dozen other guys are all fit.

Nathan Burns is the best young Aussie on the go - just joined AEK Athens and really think we missed out on the next Cahill, for now at least.

Surely Lachlan Cahill is the next Cahill
The ethnic diversity throws up some fab names. Hamlet Armenian is a classic. Buy him in January I say.

taking nothing away from your win, as Australia most probably deserved it on the night, but to be fair, we were crap. And almost on full strength isn't exactly true. We missed Robben, Boulahrouz and Bouma and van Persie, never was fully fit.

Think it's also a joke that our goalkeeper was send off. I know it was by the letter of the law, but as seeing it was a friendly game, I believe a yellow card would have been enough. Lots of times they are not even given in competitive matches, so it was a little bit harsh on our goalie, I believe. And as I said before in the Macedonia vs Scotland threat, Holland almost always play terrible in friendlies and cup qualifying rounds.

That said, I love to see Australia doing well. Actually was on holiday in Australia during the WC 2006 and watched the Brazil vs Australia match in some kind of private night club in Newcastle (NSW).
