Hard to see anything over 50M net.

That buys Schneiderlin, Depay and Lookman plus maybe another 5M type (something like those Delaney/Pepe links). Anything else will depend on outgoings.....

If Ross leaves then whatever we get for him buys his replacement. Likely same for Del.

Basically other shopping is based on whatever we can get for Niasse, Cleverley and Gibbo (maybe 15MB between them.....in this market Clev might be worth 8....). That probably goes for some sort of striking option.

Doesn't look promising for those hoping for both a CB and a keeper.

I guess McCarthy could go at the end of the window, but i would probably keep him till summer.

We are linked with Pepe??!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

BUY HIM, what ever it costs, just DO IT.

this thread... so much anguish, so little wisdom

we used to take pride in being smarter than the others about our spending

i'm glad we didn't end up "making a statement" by driving up our net spend on Sissoko, for instance!

or maybe we should deposit an extra £59,940,000 into Sligo Rovers account, to really show we mean business by boosting the net spend

or call up Villa and offer to retroactively pay more for Gana, since he's obviously worth more than what we initially paid and some here would honestly feel better if we'd started the season showcasing a "£25m midfielder," as if that actually meant something

this thread is so kopite

Not sure what you're really on about there.

I'd guess net spend around 25 mil. Don't think we get all we want this window but a step in the right direction would be nice. Out with some old in with some new.

Once we sell Barkley for around 25-30m then our net spend I reckon will be roughly -15m give or take either way.

Barkley out.
Cleverley out.

Few youth players in and a weird loan.

The rest to go to Moshiri the fraud.

Well said pal.

I for one would like to see a fairly LOW net spend... achieved by balancing a fairly significant gross spend with a decent profit from player sales. We have to shift the likes of Gibson, Kone and Niasse and get actual money for them. If we could bank a couple mil for McGeady too, that would be a bonus. If those four together raised £10m then that's an extra £10m to spend, the wage bill reduced and absolutely zero negative impact on the squad (because none of them ever play anyway).

Or we could keep them, thereby boosting any "net spend" figure.

Well Look man is £10m and that looks a dead cert. Any quality player will cost £20-30m so if we sign above 2 players I'm thinking somewhere between £40-60m

That'll be too much to ask though

There should be at least 30m if we go by the fact we wanted Sisoko plus any outgoings to top it up.

Although I'm not sure where that cash is coming from?
