They've always been my favourite books, with the Hobbit of course. I've read some other stuff he wrote, the silmarillion and such, but I never found them as enjoyable.

The HP novels are very good books. The only series of books I've read are HP, LOTR and Spike Milligans war memoirs.

Relating to the map business before, I always get the globe, close my eyes, spin it then point to a random place and guess whether it's land or sea.

This started as a game with my Dad when I was about 6 or 7. I still play with myself now.

Currently wine tasting for a wedding. It's apparently part of the role for the best man, nice. I'm tweeting scores of all 14 bottles I'm about to taste. Not really nerdy, just massively knobish I guess, either way, it's the only way I will remember a thing in 2 hours time

Yeah the Milligan books are ace. I'm trying to
think of other series. The Discworld novels, Hitchhikers Guide and the Red Dwarf books are worth a read.
