What's the current wage/turnover situation? I think if we get into any kind of European competition, we're limited to 75% of turnover going on wages.
This might be the big one for Grealish really - we need so many other positions filled too that signing him instead of (realistically) two other players at, say, full back would likely be detrimental to the team, especially if we're in Europe.

There's the option of signing him on loan again and City paying a big chunk though, but doubt they'd want to do us that favour.

Keep Ndiaye regardless.

I think I read that for 24/25 we had a ratio of 81% or something. Obviously we will probably have more revenue due to the stadium, and the higher league position, but maybe also higher wages because of the new signings too? Getting to 75% might be tough, and you'd think if we made Europe we'd need better depth to the squad.

Hope the situation is better and allows for Grealish but I'd prefer we improve depth over getting 1 player and being tied up with no money, as sad as it is. Hope City/Grealish cooperate on that front and we get both obviously.

And yeah as @Walken said - no brainer they're obviously both making the team.

I think it might be more likely that Grealish joins and Illy leaves. I don’t want it to happen, but get the impression Illy would push to join a CL club if/when one comes in for him with a serious bid [£50m+].

Well then, let me just say - with hands on hips - that'll we'll jolly well have to be a Champions League club, then, won't we?

Beat Brentford and the scum ( love to win the first derby in our new ground ) and if Villa win Europa and we might just sneak in there
After that it’s just the city game to fear
Palace Sunderland West Ham and Spurs are all winnable games but it’s the hope that kills you 😂

I’ve seen Grealish play as a 10 once
For england against the ROI in Dublin
He was outstanding in that game
Maybe there’s a role there for him with Garner and KDH behind him and a good CF ahead of him
In games where we have the ball for sure, but without the ball we play in a way that requires the 10 to have two lungs, not sure how he'd fit in that.

i agree but turning our nose up over grealish to get someone who is bound to be not as talented just feels mad

Position by position Ndiaye is better than Grealish on the left.

On the right we have Dibling or we can sign someone who walks into the team there.

I think we need to play our best players in their positions.

KDH CM not ACM
Branthwaite CB not LB
Ndiaye LW not RW
O'Brien CB not RB
Garner CM not RB
Alcaraz ACM not RW/LW

Etc etc

We already have someone and he is better in Ndiaye, that's who should be playing on the left, its his best position and he clearly thrives when he plays there. Paying large sums of money for 31 year olds just shows we really haven't learnt anything when it comes to recruitment, especially one who is coming off the back of serious injury. Said the other day there is just no obvious way of doing a deal for Grealish where it doesn't look a bit 💩for us.

Agreed.

Ndiaye is world class. No doubt. And his next few years he will be entering his prime. You play him in his favourite position and build around him. For me that means we dont sign 31 year old Grealish as the money involved will be silly and better spent on other positions

World class is a bit strong but I agree.

Ndiaye LW not RW
Not really seen enough to say that Ndiyae is definitively better on the left than the right. IMO looks dangerous regardless of where he plays. If I had to, yes off the left, but he's that good that's it a flip of a coin for me. Which is unusual

On that basis we don't have to pigeon hole ourselves in the market looking for a LW or RW specialist. If we can get Grealo for a good price then why not look at other areas in the squad that need surgery
