Tell you what, start of the season I did not have Lakers down as champs. Sure they had LeBron and AD but I just thought the supporting cast around them was very bang average compared to the Clippers. Fair play to them and nice little win for Kobe too.
Ugh, I understand these comments but the whole fetishization of his death bothered me. Them winning the championship does little to nothing for his family. I'm sure they'd rather the Lakers won.
But the guy, his daughter and 8 others lost their lives and it's all far from a story book ending. I almost got to the point where I'd rather they didn't win. I just got tired of the whole narrative.
Like I said, I understand the connection people make, but the whole way the media glorified it just made my stomach turn. As someone who was just a random who was bothered by his death more than I should have been. By no means can I speak for them, but like Kobe didn't play with any of these guys. Dwight howard was the 2nd worse player in his career he had to deal with outside of smush parker, I always thought Mihm was a disaster but he never spoke or showed anger towards him publically.
The championship just didn't do bleep for me. It doesn't bring him back. Doesn't heal anything. It's just another ill timed death. From the one's I dealt with only time numbs it, and it still always feels like a novel you get halfway into then after page 160 the pages are still there so you expected more. But the words just stop and it's all blank from some random midsentence on.
