NBA/ Basketball thread

I'll stray outside of my comfort zone talking too much about basketball, but I fear that too much of today's game is isolation-based and wouldn't fit in the game 20-30 years ago. John Wall would have been terrible in the 80s-90s, and it would be interesting to (have) see(n) Westbrook try to take on the Celtics in a sweltering Boston Gardens. Those teams were tenacious and nasty.

Furiously mashing the non-existent rep button.

Lucky to see one game with Bird, McHale, The Chief, and co at the Gahden. That place was magic back in the day.

Different games and athletes now and then, though.

Spurs have fallen off the pace, but Warriors remain on pace to break 72. Their final stretch is tough though. Will they win 73 or more?

Mad how the Spurs are only 3 and a half games back yet Golden State is having an insane year.

I'll say yeah they will but the Spurs win one and a surging Blazers steal one late in the regular season.

Yeah, Spurs are only on pace to win 69, like that's a pedestrian record.

Warriors final 7 games are: Celtics (H), Blazers (H), T-Wolves (H), Spurs (H), Grizzlies (A), Spurs (A), Grizzlies (H). Only 1 gimme in the bunch. Should be a great finish.

*I can't tell what to think about the Warriors' chances for 73. They seem to have passed the boredom test (a few weak losses, but not enough to hurt), so barring injury they should be able to do it. But can they?

Actually their schedule eases up. 17 home games left and only 8 road games.

The current road trip is brutal. Back to back games last Friday and Saturday (early tip off Saturday) in Portland then Los Angeles. Then fly across the country for a Monday game in Atlanta. Then back to back games Wed and Thursday in Florida. Then ending with a Saturday game in OKC.

fantastic game going on in OKC, between them and the warriors. Iguadola gets fouled by KD with .7secs and hits both free throws despite being an average FT. Durant just missed a contested shot at the buzzer so you all still have time to catch overtime ;)

Been a great game. Curry had what looked like a major ankle injury, but somehow bounced back. He is just ridiculous, redefining what a good shot is.

agreed, been a fantastic game, curry is ridiculous. big time 3 from Klay Thompson to cut it to 1 as well. it's a shame Durant just fouled out
