2024/25 Nathan Patterson

Jake O'Brien says hi

…no idea what that has to do with it.

That tackle on Saka is exactly what I keep saying about Patterson either lunging in or standing too far off his winger. For some reason, he just can’t seem to ‘jockey’ his opponent like full backs do. It’s basic for a full back and odd he struggles so much with it.

Young does that every game and everyone just ignores it 🤷‍♂️

It was one of his usual woeful punts into the box from a promising attacking position that gifted the ball to Arsenal for the counter attack that led to the goal, you could tell Gana and Branthwaite were totally unprepared because the momentum was so heavily with us. Looked like he was running in quicksand when trying to get back for the counter attack for the Trossard chance earlier, and on more than one occasion he lunged in like it was a Sunday league match on a day where everyone knew our teams tackling would be under the microscope.

That said, it was probably one of his best games for us and he deserves credit for filling in at left back when we were short. 5/10 from me.
