I’m not saying Patterson is all that, but to say Young and Coleman have a ‘vice-like grip’ on the right back position is madness.

We conceded two more with them in that position today and have been shipping goals regularly with Young.

It’s really sad how much you jump on this kids back as (assuming you are) a fully grown adult. Purely because we bought him from a club you dislike.

I say what a see mate: a player nowhere near good enough for Everton.

The manager I feel quite sure at the end of the season will bring another RB in ad try and move Patterson on. That's the right decision too, for him as much as us.

I’ve been saying it for weeks, but the haters can’t see it. Young is one of the reasons we end up camped in our own half for long periods of time, especially in the 2nd half of matches. Patterson is more composed on the ball and a better footballer.

I stated he needed to be handed a chance to prove himself and I think he's had that and not taken it. I praised his contributions against Liverpool last season and thought he played well this pre-season. But they have been too fleeting moments. We've not been shown nearly enough to stick with him.

If we can claw back £8M to £10M of the £16M paid out on him by the dunces at this club then we should take that and re-invest in a better prospect. That's just sensible to cut our losses.

Having sympathy isn’t for for the feeble minded pal. And having empathy is even stronger. Hatred is a really tough feeling to hold. I understand your pain, but there are better places for it than targeted at a 22 year old kid.

Also didn’t cost us £16m. Cost us £12m. So if you are valuing him at £8-10m then he must be performing close to what you expect of a £12m player. So some of your criticism is then clearly a bit OTT.
