Naismith? Thoughts?

Was impressed. A neat player, he's composed on the ball and finds good pockets of space. Quite a bit like Leon Osman, to be honest. Not surprising he wasn't daunted by the occasion; I think if you can survive the Old Firm games, you can survive any game.

Don't know if he'll ever solidify a regular spot in the 1st team, but after today's performance I think he's earned a chance to try; I still want to see him play behind Jelavic.

i thought he was awful, showed no pace, then he scored

Agree with this. We have enough slow, weak, non-athletic, tidy players. I think he's a decent squad player but like davek said, he shouldn't be in our first 11 when people are fit. I think you need a bit more in this league and he doesn't really have that.

I felt he could have done better for their 1st today but will have to see it again to be sure.

A but loose in the opening quarter, but did try and open it up for Jelavic. He just looked rusty to me. I think he's an intelligent player who works hard. A good player to bring on or rely on in these situations IMO.

I thought he was great today, shows the difference in opinion between our fans.

He linked well with Jelavic at times and he never stopped running.

Thought Naismith did well yesterday. If everyone was fit (big if!) i reckon he would be on the bench, but good player to have coming off the bench in my opinion. If Mirrallas is going to be out for a while, after that snide challenge, Naismith could get a run of games which will do him the world of good.

Considering we aquired him for(at the mo)nothing,he has paid for himself over and over with the goal yesterday, looks a Moyes type player, will do as he's told and play to orders.

He needs games, he's barely played in over a year. Not sure he's got the pace to play out wide, I'd prefer to see him playing in the No. 10 role, as he looks to have an eye for a killer ball.

From the few occasions they've had chance to show it, Naismith and Jelevic look like they are capable of linking up very well. I'd love to see Fellaini drop deeper and Naismith play off Jelavic, but Moyes doesn't make those sort of changes unless injuries force his hand.

People who said he was awful in the derby are just weird. Not saying he was amazing, but he certainly didn't play badly either.

I can't see him ever been one of the leagues best but he does work really hard and will be a very handy player for Everton.

He doesn't play like a winger at all, he'd be much more suited to playing the Osman role behind Jelavic. But with Fellaini in the team that's a non starter as Moyes won't even try it.

Nice through ball for Jelavic early on yesterday, surprised Moyes didn't haul him off at half time for having the audacity to play a forward ball.

He did well.

I agree for once.

He's not a RM and there's way too much of a queue for that Jelavic partner for him to be seriously considered. He'll just have to do a job of filling in when all other possibilities are exhausted.
