Naismith 3 year extention

This summer will be the best time to sell him. He is not even a homegrown player. We should replace him with young AM with at least some creativity. He has no creativity to play that position.

This is it, very simple.

He's absolutely dog dirt, picked because he isn't bad at 'hustling' and because he puts in 110% effort.

I'd put in 110% effort, but doesn't mean I would be any good.

He had a three game purple patch and everybody ignored him being completely and utterly crap last season, and lo and behold he's found his level once again in recent months.

He wasn't crap last season though, that's absolute garbage! He was one of our best players in the latter part of last season!

I agree he should be rotated more this season but people who say he is only in the team because he 'runs around' are doing the lad a dis-service!

Don't forget he had a spell on the sidelines earlier in the season and we were crap!

A lot of our players will be scapegoats this season as we have been utter crap overall. Naismith will be no different. A good player but nowhere good enough to take us into the top 4. A great squad player thought who gives 100% and cannot fault him for that. Players the likes of Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Silva, Erickson play in similar role and are a step up from the likes of Naismith. I was slagged recently for expressing this well founded opinion but players like Hazard will get you into the top 4. Players like Naismith/Osman maybe 6/7/8th. People raved about Osman for a couple of years. Did he get 1 /2 England caps. Did any decent team ever try to take him off us over his long career with us. No. Why? not good enough for a top 4 team. Same goes for Naismith. Cannot question their commitment though and they should always get respect for that alone.

how exactly is that a well founded opinion? Hazard plays in a team full of quality. You are comparing apples with oranges, the players you have mentioned are all £25+ million, Naisy was a free transfer. The team over achieved last season by mounting a challenge for 4th spot, we need to be realistic.

I dont understand where you coming from with this.My well founded opinion is backed up by your reply!Naismith would get no where near the Chelsea team. That's why Chelsea compete for League titles. They have quality world class players like hazard who are in a different class to the likes of naismith. I would think that is a realistic opinion therefore one of my many well founded opinion

How on Earth did we over achieve? We finished one place higher than the previous season, two places higher than the season before that etc. It is not as if 5th is a position we are unfamiliar with, having finished there 3 times in recent seasons.

It's just a bit strange, why would you compare the likes of Hazard with Naisy? You could go through the whole team and 1 or 2 at a push would get in the Chelsea team. If we want to challenge every year for the top 4 then we need to get rid of the majority of the squad and start spending £30 million on players.

We finished the previous three seasons 6,6 and 7th, that group of players in my opinion over achieved last season. The point I was making was that to break into the top 4 we have to spend big. To compare guys like Naisy to world class players like Hazard is madness.

He's a key player for us lads. Just let that sink in. Martinez considers him a key player

He can't actually play football

To be fair none of our players would get anywhere near the Chelsea team.
