...I like Naismith, I think he's a capable and intelligent footballer with a bit of attitude. Look at his contribution to goals in the first part of the season, like Burnley away and you see he can link intelligently and open up defences. I do think, however, that his form of late hasn't been as good but you have to accept that every player has dips. Despite that, he still has a contribution to make.

He'll do for me.

This is spot on. He's first and foremost a dirty aggressive footballer. He gets in people's faces and is not intimidated. My moment of the derby was him pulling Henderson away when he thought he'd attack Besic. We need more footballers like him. What does he offer? Well he leads the line very well and is combative.

True this, a lot of modern footballers have the aggression of a bag of wind, we need a player like Naismith in the side, every decent premiership side has had one.

But should he be used more as a sub rather than starting, there seems to be a problem fitting him and Barkley in.

I hope tonight we finally see him dropped from the starting 11. Surely Martinez can see the lad isnt up to it?

This. He has many qualities that make him a very good squad player. But regardless of working hard and being a pest you HAVE to have more to you game.

It makes me sad that RM sees him as a key player. That just makes us average :(
