Not a particularly great article, but it's nice to see a member of the media not gush over Alan Curbishley Mk II.
I think he was referring to the favourable position of being one up from the off and not taking the initiative with it.A lot of rubbish and some bad historical revisionism in that article.
"In the final against Chelsea circumstances could not have been more favourable". Except we were without Jagielka, Arteta and Yakubu and they weren't without Drogba, Lampard and Terry.
Suggesting the Villa job is bigger than Everton. Suggesting he should have been in contention for the job at the tin mine. Bigging up Rogers and Lambert and Martinez over him after half a good season at Swansea and Norwich respectively and Wigan's great escape, despite them being the worst team in the division by some way for most of the season, and the fact Moyes showed Rogers' Swansea up to be a case of the Emperor's new clothes quite utterly.
There are plenty of sticks to beat Moyes with, but that piece didn't really nail any of them. Poor journalism.
Article implies that Moyes sh¡ts in his pants on the big occasions when really he should be one taking the initiative.
The answer has to be that he's had security for 10 years at Everton and failed to build any really inspiring team, or - outside of the 4th spot in 2005 - achieved anything resembling success with the squads he's been given ample time to build; that he's already on an elite manager's wage, which would put off a potential suitor as he'd want a long contract to make the offer attractive on a financial level; that he's got zero Euro pedigree (worse, in fact: he's got a dog of a record in Europe) and that's another huge consideration.
Not even approached either where as Chelsea threw 13million to get AVB, the RS interviewed Martinez twice before saying Rodgers was the "one", and Villa went straight for Houlier, McLeish, and Lambert.
The bookies and press go straight for Moyes for any open manager vacancy because even Tamworth can spend more money than us, and he's "done all he can" with us making the fans get into a fluster when nothing is happening
Bottom line is that Moyes now has a reputation or stigma about him now. His stock isn't as high as it was while his price is higher than most in world football so he gets swerved for new up and coming managers out to prove themselves
Well written article but the content is bollocks, sorry.
How can you compare the likes of Martinez and Rodgers to Moyes seriously?
If you want attractive football that gets you nowhere then fairplay. People forget what Rodgers achieved before Swansea, now hes in charge of Liverpool after a season that fizzled out with Swansea hes gonna show us all how its done, ok yer...
Its getting boring all these non-stories Journos are serving up about Moyes, isnt it obvious by now?
Hes got loyalty and integrity (ruling out Liverpool)
He believes having a sound relationship with his chairman is in his and the club's best interests (something he is unlikely to find with Levy, Lerner, or Abramovich)
Theres only one other job for him in England, and its not available yet.
When it is, no one would stand in his way, he'll be deserving such is the job hes done.
Its laughable how this guy can compare what has been achieved at Everton by David Moyes to some half decent football played by Rodgers and Martinez. The article does Moyes a massive injustice, probably why the guy is only writing about football and not involved in any other way.

You make it sound as if its a comment without any kind of foundation, when the reality is, the people who matter, not you, not me, the people involved in the game, would put his name on the list without hesitation.
His stock is high in the football industry, even the current united manager rates him, so why is it wrong to suggest hed be at least in the running?
He never gets approached.
Firstly, you don;t know that.
Secondly, who could take him away from Everton? Certianly not villa. The RS have less chance. Chelsea can get anyone they want and as a big a fan as I am of Moylez he still wouldn't even by my first choice.
Spurs, ok maybe a point there. But they don't spend as much as people think and a lot of it was financed by the Keane and Berbatov sales. Not as rich as people make out. Maybe they can't afford him anyway or maybe Moyes realises 'Arry has ****ed off when there's no money left. Again.
Put it this way, if Moyes were to fall out with kenwright and then get sacked for whatever reason, 89/90 out of the 92 league clubs would love him to be their manager.
