You make it sound as if its a comment without any kind of foundation, when the reality is, the people who matter, not you, not me, the people involved in the game, would put his name on the list without hesitation.

His stock is high in the football industry, even the current united manager rates him, so why is it wrong to suggest hed be at least in the running?

Which is why, after 10 years, he remains 'marooned' at Everton?

Moyes would never be considered for the United job. Surely you can see this? It's completely out of the question that they'd go for Moyes.

i would be interested to know who's stock is LOW among these mood setters of the football industry.

The answer is none.

Even Mcarthy the arch Duke of dourness when released by Wolves was feted as a "good man", "not given enough time" bull****. These are people who will never offer a genuine opinion in public, get them pissed in private and the truth comes out, the phrase "jammy cnut" was whispered by one of these SKY pundits about Moyes to me.

As opposed to the rubbish that's served up at Goodison every week that gets us nowhere?

Rubbish that has seen us finish consistently in the top half of the league, sometimes on the verges or in the European positions despite having 90% of top ten contending teams outspend us?

And don't forget, there have been times during Moyes' tenure, when the chips have fallen nicely for us regarding recruitment and luck with fitness and injuries when we have played attractive football that actually amounted to something other than a plucky finish to the season, ie trips to Wembley, European jaunts.

Given time and resources, something which is a massive luxury for a manager in the current football climate, i firmly believe Moyes could start a dynasty at United, something that will appeal to the owners and the man who will be relinquishing the current managerial position. He's had time at Everton, something he is incredibly grateful for, he has very rarely been given the kind of financial backing others around him have.

With all due respect I think some Evertonians are incredibly short sighted.

A better journalist could do something v interesting with this subject. I wish they would. After years of unconditional love from the media, DM has become blind to his faults I think. I am a moyes supporter but I don't think there's another manager in the Prem who has this get out of jail card when it comes to disasters like the semi final. 'It's amazing what he does with those resources' is the mantra. Whilst money does hold him back IMO, it's become a bit of a comfort zone. It means he avoids the spotlight when the avoidable happens. I almost wish a tottenham or Utd would give him a job- just to prove finally one way or the other what he could do with a proper budget.

The fact is at clubs like Spurs - someone else has control over transfers etc - Moyes likes Everton because he has complete control over football matters - players wont be bought or sold without his say so

I do find it amusing that so many on here seem to think hes not up to it whereas

Rodgers - pretty football for half a season in the Premier league (that got played off the park twice by us i hasten to add!)
Martinez - who only seems able to get his teams to play for about the last 10 games of the season
Lambert - O'Neil jnr - limted style and substance but did ok for one season in Prem so must be awesome
Any team can have one good season - but being consistent is a bigger acheivement than most on here give credit for.
Moyes hasnt just done it for 6 months - he has done it consistently for 10 yrs - its not always pretty but guess what - It cant always be pretty to do it for so long. its easy to paly pretty football as a new boy in the league and get away with it - Im only disappointed that nobody got to see the 2nd season of Norwich & Swansea when they get found out and sink like a stone - remember ipswich anyone!

People keep going on about the money he earns - well so what - he is about the 6th or 7th highest paid manager in the Prem - which given we finish in the top 8 consistently seems fairly reasonable - oh and he gets paid alot less than Martin O'Neil who has achieved the sum total of NOTHING at all big clubs hes been at - thats how easy it is!

If you want an idea of the job Moyes does - look at O'Neil at Villa - spent millions and still finished below us every season!

As for some of the negatives -

not winning away from home against big 4 - well jeez lots of teams have done that haven't they - there is a reason they are top you know. (note this used to be in games against big 4 - but we started beating them at home so the stick to beat him with has had to change!)

Losing against Villareal away, Benfica away, Sporting away.

Ok Sporting was disappointing - but Benfica - we had about 5 1st team players and a reserves defence - Hibbert was playing CB for goodness sake.

As for Villareal well dont get me started on that - we did more than enough to beat Villareal in both legs and would have done but for a certain bald headed italian that i wont mention.

Moyes doesnt have a get out of jail card -he is doing an excellent job that for some reason a portion of fans dont appreciate - why I have no idea maybe they have had their expectations pushed too high that they feel we should be Champions League contenders every season - the fact is that given a season without injuries we might be even now!

Like I say, I'm a fan of the ginger man but I do think when pundits and journalists say 'poor davey, if only he had the cash...' it relieves him of pressure that he could often do with. He's a talented manager but someone needs to grab him by the lapels occasionally and shout 'what the [Poor language removed]?' after games like the derby. He's certainly not going to hear it from BK.

Some people seem to think that Moyes is happy with a cushy job at Everton getting ltos of money for no pressure.

Now, I dont know David moyes at all - but everything about him Ive seen and Ive read in books etc by others who do know him tells me that isnt the case. If he didnt feel he could achieve things at Everton he wouldnt sign new contracts and would leave.
He is attached to Everton but will only stay as long as he can continue to challenge

Challenge for what?

You have a point, there is no chance of old trafford putting up with 10 years of 4-5-1, playing to contain and defend, aand trying to nick a goal and sit on it.
Plus moyes in 10 years has had a phobia of natural wingers, United have maximised the wings with quality wingers under fergie, Moyes would turn in his grave with the thought of a player being selected for what he can do goingf orward instead of how hard he can work for the team.
