Anyway, Besic will back in time for Villa, think he will struggle to get back into the team if the players play like they are, just hope he can stay fight and be ready when called on.

Fingers crossed he's back on his feet soon. I want to be proved wrong and hope that Mo can string a few strong performances together. I guess to be fair he's only still quite young so perhaps he will bulk up a bit. No disputing he has the skillset hence my suggestion for a loan to a slower league was well intentioned.

It's crazy he started off life as a centre half. That Hungarian league must be something.

Interesting reading some background on him.

For example I didn't know he was born in Germany and lived there his whole life until he moved away to play in Hungary aged 20. And that his lack of discipline led to the club selling him to Ferencváros. He seems to have straightened out since then so fair play.

For those Blues around a decade ago I guess the easy comparison is with Thomas Gravesen - very similar players.

besic injuries are a concern, he just can't stay fit

If you look at his stats this has always been an issue.

Since making his debut for Hamburg in November 2010 he has only played 79 games. Scoring one goal. That's 79 games in five and a half years. Not sure if the injuries are the same though. For us in the game against Chelsea he seemed to get injured in a very Innocuous fashion.

Maybe like Stevie G or Henderson there's something in the supposed way he runs (as Alex Ferguson said about Henderson) or perhaps has similar issues with "growing pains" that was meant to have plagued Stevie G when he was younger. Only problem is Mo is 24 this year so time is ticking.

Not sure how it compares but looking at 24 this year but only played 79 senior games and a lot of them will be substitute appearances sounds like quite a worry.

You got the wrong man!

Hmm. From what I read the posts above were, well, uncalled for.

However I agree with you that Besic is a tidy player, and disagree with those saying otherwise.

He was doing well before getting injured, hopefully that won't be a sign he's injury prone.

I think his potential is that high that, if there was an obvious risk at the time of signing, the risk was worth taking for that money.

I'm pretty sure that if he fails to make it with us it will only be because of injury problems.

All mo and no mo makes mo a mo mo

Hes picked up a few niggles, "thankfully" they havent been recurring, just different injuries, different legs, real shame, he could have kicked on this season, but also hes shown a lot of people the talent he has, as I say, if it starts running into next season, then we might have an issue, im not overly concerned at the moment, just gutted for the lad.

Hamstring injuries are very difficult to recover from some never do, but you judge a player on his ability on the field and a fit, Besic, is an outstanding talent, who can raise the crowd with a single tackle.
If we are playing well save him get him 100% fit, save him for Europe next year, if I was in a corner I would like him by my side.
Lay of the lad he is a very good player.
Some on GOT just find some excuse to criticise any player signed by RM

I love Martinez's signings in the main. Apart from Kone and Alcaraz obviously....

I like the idea of getting Besci properly fit and let him have a crack at the League Cup games early on next season maybe in a central role dictating the play. By all means give him a chance but time is ticking.

Fair enough Charlie, but can you not feel while you are at the game how he lifts the crowd, he adds power quick movement and a tenacious tackler, he is one of the few players I have seen in recent years whom can actually make a slide tackle. A much-missed art in my view.
