moyes

I think if any manager was put in the situation Moyes is in, they too would be pretty pissed off, and I think they would have every right to be pissed off.

It was a great effort by Moyes and the team to finish 5th and have good runs in the UEFA and Carling cup and that was with one of the smallest squads in the league. As soon as last season finished he should have been backed up to improve the squad for the next season and given a transfer budget but it seems he only found out how much or little he had to play with until recently. Which to me is a massive slap in the face for all the good work done last season.

He likes to bring new players in early and get them settled into the side pre season, but that didn't happen, was there going to be more cash to spend depending on the stadium situation. Mannuel Fernandes finished the season well, and Moyes was asked about him at the end of the season, I can't remember his exact quote but he didn't rule out making a move for him. To me I think Moyes was promised vast sums by the board so he didn't make a move believing we could attract better. Had he known otherwise we could have snapped him up, and what a difference he would have made to our current midfield.

I just hope we sign Moutinho to cheer him up.

lower league

it pains me 2 say this but were kinda [Poor language removed]!! as a business our club looses money every year.. up to 10 million a year theese last 2 years.. which means at some point we gotta re-dress the balance an pay the banks back some of their money.. we've lived beyond our means for a few years.. it sucks but thats why we aint got the big money signings an have spent [Poor language removed] all... were skint!

Hmmm, where you by any chance listening to the Radio Merseyside phone in after the match?

listening to moyes on radio merseyside after todays game has put me on a total downer the man should do one now all he is doing is showing a titty lip to all the press players and fans .i have been a supporter for 55yrs and have never hearda manager been so down do one now davy

are you for real? the man is gutted because he isnt being given what he needs to progress. would u rather he was happy we were beaten 3-0 at home to portsmouth, laughing and joking on the radio?

I just hope that this puts a bomb under the arses of whoever it is that is staling on getting us the calibre of player we obviously need.

i did yeah

i was listening to the phone-in after the game mate.. what can't speak can't lie(our year on year financial results).. were pot-less.. very few clubs operate at a profit.. its just those with wealthy benefactors need not worry... but we dont have one..

I was just wondering, cos i was listening on the drive home, and that figure just stuck in my mind...:)

I'm getting to the point now where, if he's that disgruntled, I think he should just resign. It's not healthy for him or the club to carry on like this. A decision has been made by the club owners that funds wont be released to push on to the next stage Moyes has been aiming for. Moyes should now recognise that lack of ambition at the club and depart with his dignity and credibility intact, rather than limp on and put up with the situation forced on him.
Yup i too looking at him on MOTD feel we're seeing the end of his time at everton,he looks almost disinterested in things now

Its almost certain that something is very wrong at the club and maybe it'd be healthier for him and the club to part ways.

Be a sad day if it happened though

It seems clear that we're skint, and some people in this thread believe that's not really Kenwright's fault.

Others with memories longer than a goldfish's will think back to the mess up with the NTL investment (ultimately replaced with the Bear Sterns loan still being paid off), and the worst business decision ever taken to pass on the Kings Dock.

Well done Bill.

Spot on that, mate, though some matchgoing supporters are venting their spleen at Bill Kenwright now, as the Observer report today: 'a few spiteful taunts in Bill Kenwright's direction' (funny that, when I'd posted here yesterday this had happened there was disbelief...ho hum!).

Only a matter of time until this turns really nasty.

Well in all fairness we couldnt raise the 30 odd mill for KD..but it begs the question..how the hell where we ever going to raise more than that for Kirby?

The mind boggles.

I'm sorry if understood incorrectly, but are you saying that a new stadium at Kings Docks would do the trick?

I'm sorry guys, but you have no idea of what a new stadium will bring. People only think of the new bigger capacity and the commercial oportunities...but do you now how long will it take to pay all that off?

I'd say 20 to 30 years, mates. With some out of this world's deals maybe we can pay it in 15 years. But that means we'll be in deeper [Poor language removed] (debts) more skint or probably spend money on transfers coming from loans...

Great way to run a club into shambles, I'll tell you that. If you think we're doing bad, wait until you have to sell all the good players in the squad and end up at the championship or worse.

PS - If that wasn't your original idea, then forget everything I just said.

Moyes has always done his best for this club, as to some degree has Kenwright. I just think he now feels he has taken us as far as the money he has will take him. Hes a loyal and honest man and i honestly think if he was going to quit he would come out and say it.

The fact he hasnt signed his contract can only mean the things he asked for havent been met, possibly in terms of backing from the board or something else. In all fairness after 1st Sept he doesnt have any excuse, 2 week break, transfer window shut, i think then he will either sign or come out and say he isnt signing and hopefully state the reason.

If he was to leave he would leave with my respect and i wouldnt think any less of him, he has made our club great again, yea we are having a bad time atm and along the way there has been some dark days, but he has made us believe again, so for this i will forever be thankful for Moyes and Kenwright, neither are perfect, but both have given us 100% and given us a platform to progress.

The premiership is no longer about the best manager, its about whos got the most money, money doesnt always bring success and we have shown that sometimes you just dont need money to get ahead. But to move to the next level we need money that BK just doesnt have, money i dnt have, money YOU dnt have. Its not his fault and its not Moyes fault.

If we wanna point fingers lets point them @ Sky, lets point them @ the cash cow that is the CL, lets point them @ UEFA for allowing the top teams to have so much money than the rest, but lets not point them @ 2 ppl who have given everything for our club.

Well said (y)

I hope moyes leaves and gives the board the kick up the backside they need. Also any other credible manager that came in would want money to spend. I personally thinks moyes has been great for this club and with what he has been given in terms of money been very good. I remember the trash of managers before him. I fear losing moyes more than not signing anyone but if that is what it takes to wake the board up and get them to pull their heads out of the sand then this is what must happen. :(:(:(
