I think option 1 would be the better option, we're getting left behind due to the modern money economy in Football.

And I don't think changing Goodison's name would be a disaster as people would see the benefits and still call it Goodison and it will generate money.

Surprised the poll is so close, when the posts are so anti. Seems the yay-sayers aren't backing up their vote with words...

@the ones who've posted "I would if we got enough money" I guess you voted yes ?

It makes sense and we'd all still call it Goodison anyway and as previously mentioned, who gives a toss about why the media call it? They seem to think we're a mid table club so they can [Poor language removed] off.

The problem is that newer, younger non-local fans who have no ties to Liverpool or even England (and aren't members of any fan club or forum) get their Everton information from the media. Over time, if the media insist on calling our stadium Chang Park, then so will they.

It will get to the point where older blues will meet younger blues in a neutral pub one day, and both will have different names for the home stadium.

Does this even matter? I'm not sure it does, really...but it just doesn't feel right somehow. I voted no anyway.

If by some small chance we should ever move ground then call it what you like other wise leave it be.
Goodison is our home for the time being leave the Ol' Lady be

The bottom line is beggars cannot be choosers and for as long as we have the current Board we'll be beggars.

Frankly, being an Evertonian is pretty dull as our realistic seasons involve a range of 5-12 in PL and a possible cup run.

The main excitement is our penchant as fans for gossip and back-biting!

The main "improvement" is the quality of football getting a bit better.

Stadium naming rights would not move the dial on any of this even a fraction.

A new or massively re-developed stadium would move the dial slightly.

A new Board would move the dial significantly - for better (our own 'City' or even our own Villa, despite some of the nonsense talked about Randy Lerner) or worse (our own Pompey, Rangers, Leeds...). The odds are probably stacked slightly to better because for all BK's many faults I think he'd genuinely try to protect the club IF he could (though I'm not convinced he is in charge when it comes to £).

A new manager would probably have the most profound short-term effect - again for better or for worse but with the odds probably stacked towards worse.

Of course, 3 points at the public loo tomorrow and life will be a little more exciting b)

With the current incumbents we would get £10 and be playing football in the Douchebag Arena for the next 30 years.

I could honestly see Red Bull being interested in doing this and renaming it "Red Bull Park"

They've wanted into England for ages. They're already in the USA and Austria

I personally would be sad to see it happen. I would just call it Goodison still regardless

Re-naming the existing stadium?

Not for me.

Same as if some new owner came in and decided blue was an unluckly colour and wanted us to change to green or white or black or something, the way they did with Cardiff.

I would hate it.

Now, I am not averse to moving to a new ground and making a few quid through "naming rights" but if we stay put, then the name must always be Goodison Park as far as I am concerned.

Difference with that being that we could carry on calling the stadium Goodison. We couldn't recalibrate our eyes so that the new red Everton kit looked blue.

We all go on about how much we hate how Sky has ruined football etc, those kind of people are the ones who would be calling it the Hot Wok Bowl, not actual Evertonians.
