When you read the article, it sounds like he's talking as though he means the period after the first few games at the start of the season, when we were playing really bad, rather than pre-season, when I reckon the goal was UEFA qualification again.

Exactamundo.

He had to of meant start as in the beginning few games when we were [Poor language removed] rather than start before we had played a game.

A lot of people on here said they would take a top 10 finish after the start we had.

Now most people will accept nothing less than top 6. I'm sure the same goes for Moyes now.

I ******* hate it when he says this, he has said things like this before.

It doesnt suprise me however with the antics that happened in the summer.

I'll have to admit, I was worried about a top-10 finish especially after that draw to Newcastle. That was right after being bounced from Europe and we had (I think) only wins against new boys Stoke and WBA. Newcastle was in shambles at that time, and I thought if we couldn't beat this mess of a club, then we're in serious trouble. And we were!

If Moyes was talking about the slow start, then I understand the comment. Hell, I was thinking the same. Of course, now that the season's turned around, we can realistically shoot for Europe. I mean, we get on a good run, CL's not even totally out of the question.

a pity s.a.f. stopped short of saying, "what he has done with the available resources is remarkable and he is going about it the right way, unlike others who dont understand or have what it takes to win this league, who disrespect the opposition and in the bigger pictured have failed, they have had massive resources available and have used them yet are nowhere nearer to the p.l. than 5 years ago"
