Moyes Though ?

indeed.
I think I must be the only one left that hasn't started a should Martinez go poll in the last few weeks, I did try to start one a few weeks back when we'd won a couple of games but it "wasn't the right time for that sort of a thread"
I don't know what thread i'm in most of the time now. It's the same posters cut and pasting their diatribes about Martinez across multiple threads as if they think we don't already know what they think or that it's going to make some sort of difference. They're the same ones that pick on players when we do win.

The only rest-bite you can get these days its the multiple threads which devolve down into how much certain posters hate Howard which are just as bad. I just don't see the point of piling abuse and pressure on a player when he's not playing great to start with, it achieves nothing.

Bobby is going nowhere regardless of how much they throw their toys out of the pram when things don't go our way. Like it or not, Howard is our number one Goalkeeper, that's not going to change by booing him and clapping ironically, the only thing that's going to do is make things worse.

Some posters really need to grow up and look at it with some perspective. It's almost as if they think that the players and management are deliberately not wanting to win matches. I just hope they have more mental fortitude than the noisey bell-whiffs in our support and get themselves out of this rut. It's a tough time all round, but it's a time to support not abuse.
It's a reprise of last season...and it'll have the same outcome too. Martinez will be here because the players will get results and they are with him (only here because of him) and the club owners are a) happy with a PL position that never threatens the club's finances re the tv revenue, and b ) more than likely embroiled in ownership considerations with a potential takeover and have more important things to be concerned about.

Still, people get frustrated with life in general and see a relief for it by periodically attacking their own manager and his team. As said though, back in Everton World rather than La La Land their is no turmoil. The club makes its way through the season like a swan cutting through water and the howls from forums cant ever be heard.

you mean the non-FIFA fantasy bell-whiff world where it's unwise to change manager every couple of years and ditch players and buy new ones when they go through a bad patch?

No mate, you could not be any more wrong lol never played fifa in my life and not a chance I will. Try your labelling tactics like the bloke you are jumping to the defence of all you like, they don't work.

And 18 months of poor results is a bad patch? Jesus, you are very generous.

I don't get why Moyes is mentioned at all to be honest.

If, and it's a big bloomin' if, Martinez ever does go, why would he be even considered? There's a million other managers out there.

It's the entire 'I've paid me money so I can shout what I want and Boo things I don't like' that gets me.
Where else in life does that apply? catching a bus? going to the cinema? having a pint down the pub?
You behave like that anywhere else and you'll be slung out and most likely arrested for beaching the peace.

So because the board has zero ambition that makes any opinion on the manager irrelevant? Does that not also render your own opinion on the 'football from the gods' also irrelevant? Yes he's not going anywhere, yes we're not getting relegated, any man or his dog could have predicted that at the beginning of the season. That doesn't mean though that Evertonians cannot express that a change is needed even if they know full well it's not happening.

As for the players only being here because of him, half the first choice 11 are still Moyes players so I don't really buy that. Stones put in a transfer request as well so why is he only here for the manager? This summer will see quite a few go out the door because contrary to this myth that has sprung up that Martinez is bigger than Everton, I'd wager that quite a few joined Everton because they were the Everton of the top 6, European football and good exposure. They will not be as enamoured with Everton of the bottom half, nowhere near Europe, their reputations ridiculed in the media most weeks after embarassing defensive displays, their international careers stalling through not playing, poor injury management, or woeful form. And they will not think twice about leaving the ex manager of Wigan to get what they deserve elsewhere.

Bizarre argument. Moaning about fan behaviour that has existed since the start of football and competitive sport in general?

Just LOL.

Maybe you should watch croquet or something.

It's called competitive sport, rugby, football, boxing etc etc...some people are passionate and think it is part of it.

What has it got to do with going for a pint or the cinema?

You can do what you like mate. I'm merely pointing out it's not cutting through. Theres Everton social media world, then there's Everton Real World.

Knock yourself out with the negativity if it cures some of your own frustrations in life. It's all safe enough here. Just dont believe it amounts to anything other than an echo chamber though, that's my point.

The bottom line is that progress on squad rebuilding has been made since last season, our attacking quality is especially noted across the country, we stand at midtable in the league and one step away from a cup final...and we have almost certainly a foot in Round 5 of the FA Cup and can zero in on another great cup run there. That's what the owners see. That's what most people outside of the club see (yes they see defensive frailties, but they dont in a million years see managerial change needed).

In short: you and the rest are living in a bubble of discontent. You need to get out of this cave you and the rest are in, smell the coffee, realise that your petitioning means nought and calm down.

What a strange post. Try going the cinema and clapping and cheering at every good bit in the film and starting a chant about how kopites are ....

I'm pretty sure you'd still get kicked out, but if you do that at the football you're considered to be supporting the team.

It's amazing how people just try to confuse and post truly irrelevant things in their support of the current regime. Even to the point of attacking the club's fans cos that's what the manager is doing.

It's not an easy/advisable/cheap thing to change managers, it's certainly something you don't want to do on a revolving door basis whenever they lose a few games. Same with players, you can't just bin players because you have decided you don't like them any more, it has to be done in a more controlled fashion. Joel might be a better option most of the time than Howard but the massive over reaction blaming Tim for every single goal is pretty ridiculous. He's nowhere as bad as a section of posters on here are desperate to make out.

There is massive amounts of good happening at this club, and some fans what to throw it all out on a gamble that the next manager might be better than what we've got. Long term planning requires a bit of guts from the fans, not just knee jerking for possible short term gain.

Yeah, but we're not talking about supporting the team are we? we're talking about the opposite. The Boos and abuse shouted by some from the moment some names are seen on the team sheet, and a lot more starting a few minutes into the game. It's not helpful and it's not supporting no matter how therapeutic and big in front of your mates it makes you feel.

but it's fine that the fans first reaction is to attack the players and manager? It's no surprise that we play better away from home,

Players are binned with ease if they are not up to it all through the football pyramid. If you have ever been involved in football you would know this. It is a very cutting and cruel profession and if seen not good enough they are released. They don't have time to work on making players better as there is always somebody coming through as good if not better.

Tim Howard has been exceptional value for Everton for the fee we paid for him, but like so many others and something I do not agree on, he is now being heckled by fans as he is being played when past his best and is now under severe scrutiny for every mistake he makes - bad managment!

For all of your massive amounts of apparent good being done, we just lost to swansea in the league for the first time ever, after also losing at home to stoke for the second season running, Leicester and have managed draws against watford and Palace due to late equalisers. Do we need to point out that at this time, Martinez appears to be a very apparent one season wonder and the form for 18 months has been very poor, with a bit of pretty football as the saving grace.

There is as much bad as there is good being done, the problem is that the manager as like last season seems oblivious to it all and appears to be making some strange claims, thus looking very unstable.

I wish this was not the case and I wish for him to do better. If we get to a league cup final then marvellous, but it means very little as any side can have a cup run as you well know, hence Villa getting to the FA cup final last year.

So we both agree your point was irrelevant, cool.

I think you'll find it's more to do with how sides set up against us and how we play, rather than anything to do with the fans.
