Moyes 'The ungrateful irritant'

If you've not read Moyes' bitter comments pre Wednesdays game, please do. His comments are so up his own backside it is rediculous. "He told the players they could play without a manager", "Most, if not all, the players were signed by him" and various other pars on his own back.

My opinion of this guy drops by the day, he even has the audacity to say he found out about the Man Utd job 4 weeks before he told Blue Bill. Not in January when Sir Alex told you according to his autobiography.

I hope we wipe the smug, already indoctrinated into the 'world hates Man Utd' mentality, smile off his face tomorrow. Even if we don't get the result, only one team will play football, the other will try and suffocate the football out of the game and try and pinch the result. Aarrrggghhh!

Your thoughts would be appreciated, as they may stop me from feeling like I would rather see the ****e finish above United, even if it meant that lot got in the top 4!

Does it have to be a slight on RM and Everton? Is it completely out of the question that he's just complimenting the players and acknowledging that we'll be tough to play and would be whoever was in charge?

I see how you could interpret the comments this way, but how many of the people fuming here have seen the interview?

I think I'll watch the interview in its entirety, noting questions asked before I make any judgement on what he's said.

Not that I'm particularly arsed either way, mind.

I haven't seen the press conference, can you post a link?
I hate him, I can't bare to look at him tomorrow on that touch line. I just hope we don't divert all our attention onto him instead of the team.

The man's a bellend, didn't like him as Everton manager, certainly don't like him now.

If he was any f*cking good he would've won us a few pots, meh.

Viva Roberto.

Don't really see what's so bad about that tbh. Saying the players can play without a manager is sort of the opposite of blowing his own trumpet.

I'm not sure why people get so angry about it really, he's gone, he's a part of our history but notice the key word there, history.

I think he deserves recognition for the great job he did here and some of the credit for assembling such a good team. Don't know why people are getting so arsey about him making a point of this.

Roberto Martinez vows to shake off Everton inferiority complex after David Moyes makes 'survival' comments
Everton manager is targeting victory over Manchester United after David Moyes said he just wanted to "get out of Old Trafford alive" when he was in charge

I was never his biggest fan as our manager. Neither was I his biggest detractor. I was glad to see him go, but grateful for what he did at our club, and I applauded him at Chelsea for his last game in charge. I even wished him well.

Then all the s***e started. His bids for our players were just business. Insulting, but just business. But his comments regarding these transfers and Everton in general have made my blood boil.

I don't care about the context or tone of his comments regarding this thread, I just hope he crashes and burns for the disrespect he's showed to the club that has put him where he is today.

I can't wait for tomorrow night, and the return fixture in April.

People who disagree with this fact hate hearing it and least of all from him and so will use it to paint him as some sort of big-headed fool, which, unfortunately for them, is largely incorrect.

He's saying he built a good team, but he's giving the players full credit for that.

How he should have to act like he left Martinez a sack of sh*te as a squad and RM is a genius for turning it all around is beyond me. He didn't. He left Martinez just about as good a foundation to build on as is possible for an Everton manager.

Bitter, bitter blues. Get over it and move on. If people really can't listen to him without looking for reasons to piss themselves off, I don't know why they bother.

This game is bigger for him that RM or anyone else involved.

We win, we go 5 points ahead of him.

That would truelly be a kick in the balls, the man that replaced him has made his every word while at Everton look bull****e, and shown him up.

Moyes needs to win this game,

Of course he is trying to take credit away from Martinez - does anyone think he hasn't seen match of the day, read newspapers and seen us play team and wondered to himself "I wish I had the bottle and tactical knowledge to do that"

He must be gutted to see us play the stuff we have done, Martinez will likely start the match with over a third of his own players tomorrow... Moyes??? he will have inherited a title winning team (surely one more capable of playing without a manager) and will be fearing anything other than a win. He was out of his depth when he had players better than he was capable of managing at Everton - he certainly is now.

Mate I agree with you regarding this thread. The tone and context of the comments seemed complimentary, but how can you possibly think he's showed us nothing but disrespect prior to this recent press conference?

Saying he would sell Baines and Felli if he was Everton boss so as to not hold their careers back and that setting a team up to play against Chelsea as Man U boss is different at Man U, as your setting your team up to win.

All this on top of how he conducted himself while utd were courting him (replace that with tapping up if you like), shows our club total disrespect. As I've said in my post before, I was glad to see him go, but wished him well. So I don't type this with the pain of a jilted lover. I'm just reacting to his behaviour towards Everton since he left.
