Moyes said, no more money. How correct is that?

The club owes £40.7 million to banks, excluding loan interest and early repayment penalties, with total liabilities of £89.3 million. Their most recent turnover was £79.7 million; the highest in the club's history.[68] The club's overdraft with Barclays Bank is secured against the Premier League's "Basic Award Fund",[69] a guaranteed sum given to clubs for competing in the Premier League.[70] Everton agreed a long-term loan of £30 million with Bear Stearns and Prudential plc in 2002

I can only think that we overreached ourselves financially in the last couple of seasons. If the above is correct then most of the TV money is going on paying off debt and interest and the current squads wges, hence DM is reduced to frees and cheapos.

I like your positive post. I don't look at my posts as optimistic, or pessimistic, but more of a 'how I see it' post. I take each game as it comes, but I'm tired of Moyes making the same mistakes, and expect him to learn by now from them. The biggest mistakes for me, have been his inability to protect the team from controversy, for 2 years running now, and this season, we are experiencing it for the third time already, with Gosling. That was piss poor for me, and Moyes, and indeed the board need a good kicking over it.

Fellaini, in his first year, scored 9 goals, and won more man of the match awards on Toffeetalk than any other player, despite Jags getting Player Of the Year. He also won the Young Player Of The Year award, so I don't know why fans think he had a bad season. He didn't. He also played carrying an injury, and was ill the start of last.

Bilyaletdinov on the other hand had about 2 good games and the rest were poor. Even if we get 4 good years, we still lost a year on the guy, even if he did get a few goals. You can't even begin to compare his season with Fellaini's.

As for next year, I'm rather chirpy. I always am preseason, but I never wear blue tinted glasses, and never will. All I want is a fit team, no controversy with contracts, and Moyes to have done his homework and know where everyone needs to play, which is another weakness in Moyes, in that he doesn't seem to know where players play best.

i disagree with this.

When it says "secured" it means fixed rate and underwritten by the payment.

We're paying a fixed amount on the loan each season.

Its called a "budget". As Neiler posted several times.

Moyes has X amount to spend each season on WAGES, CONTRACT RENEWALS, TRANSFER FEES.

He can do whatever he likes and can put it all in one or two categories if he wants.

Most of the other clubs are or have used external finance for their purchases in recent years.

A key indicator of how much cash is sloshing around in a club is WAGES:TURNOVER.

The club is in debt to £41million.

Total Liabilities refers to how much is owed in outstanding player contracts etc as well as that £41million owed to the banks.

Context is important. Everton is NOT in debt to £89million. Its just a reflection of liabilities on the club balance sheet.

Go on....give em a try! b)

He's a wool.

Yes, I guess living in Liverpool only for the first few years of my life makes me a wool.

i disagree with this.

That's cool you disagree, though the proof appears to be in the way players such as Fellaini, Bilyaletdinov, and Heitinga have been used. Not everything is so hard to see once you take the blue gigs off.

Starting to like you. Stop it at once.

Your gonna look rather silly AGAIN, when Billy plays like Messi this Season.

How you can say he had a bad Season im not quite sure, he scored some wonderful goals and was used sparingly as He struggled to adapt to the English League and get over the fact that he had played none stop for a complete calender year.

Basically the same excuses that people trotted out for Fellaini stand for Billy.

As I say, you will look silly, Tim Cahill says hiya by the way and FU for the thread you made about selling Him.

He was [Poor language removed] last season and you know it, and so was Cahill. A few goals at the end don't make up for 3/4 of garbage. Stop talking silly talk.

I wouldnt call him [Poor language removed], I would say average, he showed hes got the talent, anyway all I need to do is sit back and watch Billy make you look silly, go on Billy my Son, School that puppy.
