I appreciate I am going completely against the grain here, but I for one am sorry his tenure at Old Trafford has ended in the way it has. I think it reflects very badly on the owners of the club, regardless of whether Moyes was up for the job or not (that is a different discussion).
The whole episode has been a disaster for all concerned from the start to end.
I think from the moment he was engaged in discussions with United, either through SAF or officially with the club he has (i) been very poorly advised (ii) he has completely misjudged what he was being offered, (iii) what he was expected to do, and (iv) the amount of support he would receive from the owners of Manchester United.
With the Glazers in charge finding the replacement they want may prove more difficult than anyone believes.
Does it reflect badly on the owners ? I'm not so sure, they had to decide now either to stick with Moyes or to sack him, it's a big summer for them and if it went wrong under Moyers they would be in the s**t. Would he have lasted any longer at any other big team, Barca, Real Madrid Munich don't think so myself.
Was he poorly advised ? may be but that's why you pay big bucks to employ an adviser I know that doesn't guarantee he will get it right.
If he misjudged what he was being offered then more fool him, I along with every football fan new what the job entailed succeeding SAF, he must've known the enormity of the task, and the scrutiny he would be under both from the fans and the media. Sure it was an aging side and needed rebuilding but of his summer transfer targets not one signed for him except Fell, and for me that was a panic buy. Did he deserve to be treated the way he was probably, but for me he never got treated any worst than any other manager who's been in his position.
