Moyes rules out Toffees departures | Latest News | Football News from TEAMtalk

Everton boss David Moyes has warned rival clubs that his best players are not for sale, amid reports that Manchester City want Joleon Lescott.
England defender Lescott has been strongly linked with an £18million move to moneybags City, while Australia midfielder Tim Cahill has also been asked questions about his future.
But Moyes has insisted that nobody is for sale as he is keen to add to the squad that finished fifth in the Premier League and made it to the FA Cup final last season.
"People are always going to be linked with your good players, and they might see Everton as not having that much finance, but there's no way we'll be letting any of our players leave," he said on Radio Five Live's Sportsweek.
"The chairman's said that and I've made it clear. Everyone is under contract. The one thing we've got at Everton is stability with our players. They are all under long-term contracts and we don't need the money.
"I'd like money to spend, but I won't be giving up any of my players to raise that money."
While Everton are likely to come under threat next season from big spending clubs around them, Moyes insisted he was happy working at a club where he has to be more careful with his money.
"I feel the way we've done it where we've had to build and work with players and make them better, and juggle one or two a little bit, I think that gives you more pleasure than going out and buying the finished article," he said.

There we go then. If we do sell Lescott, it'll be Moyes's decision...not because he has to.

Personally I don't think Lescott will be going anywhere or any other of our big players.

I read as " I dont want to sell our best players and neither does the club but if we get a massive big fcuk off bid for one of them then you wont hear me saying no " Well thats how it sounded to me anyway .

Rooney wanted to leave, he just tried to make it look like Moyes forced him to do it.

But I'd be very surprised if Moyes came out and said that he would sell some of his stars to buy new players. Hope this statement comes true though, we need the big names we have.

The point is, it all starts out as 'categorical' that a player is going nowhere before the resolve slips and the player gets sold. Then the Judas chants begin. I'm not saying Lescott will be sold, but you can be certain there'll be no flies on Bill or anyone else at the club in that eventuality, thanks to their little helpers.

It's like we all forget the last decade and half of Everton transfer history each summer.

Dave I like you mate and im not saying your wrong, im just pointing out that you spent all last year saying that we would have to sell some star players. Lets not have a repeat mate. You made me sad.

I argued in the summer it was sell-to-buy - and it was. I thought it could turn out that way back in January too - it didn't.

For what it's worth, I dont think we'll see core squad players leave this time around. Maybe Anichebe sold. I just dont see incoming beyond frees and loans.

For me thats the best we can hope for. The nightmare is we sell a star player, just to buy other players.

Moyes will get something, the club has said that much. Even if we add just one quality signing (a Moutinho type) and bring in a couple of loan deals, we'll be better off than last season.

That's why it is vital we look at bringing people like Pennant in. People available on a free, with PL experience that would sit very comfortably in our squad. Put it this way, I'd be more comfortable with jermaine bombing up the wing than Ossie.

Id have that mate, only if there was a strategy to have the Mout, Trochowsk, etc as well.
