I see no other outcome than Weir as manager at the end of this *exhaustive* process. As soon as kenwright opened his grid two weeks ago to say that he'd 'listen to the Everton 'family' on this issue I suspected he was absolving himself from making a cheap decision to employ an internal yes man who'd be safe to keep the financial secrets in-house. Moyes will have briefed his protégé all this week and, I suspect, by next Monday Weir will be unveiled (giving just enough time for a Martinez not to be an option anymore - because, as per the SSN report, they don't want to give the impression they didn't do some digging for external alternatives). Weir FFS. A feller who's experience of management amounts to shadowing Alan Stubbs as his helper with the U21s. Welcome to the 21st Century Everton FC....Kenwright's Everton FC....what a complete and utter joke.

Chin up Dave, Weir might be alright.........

They'll be so desperate for the job the club can put a short term contract in front of them (even if it isn't announced as short term it'll be an understanding), and they defo wont start out on anything like Moyes salary. It'll be an internal appointment imo (Weir as far as I can see, God help us, the feller recently linked with the mighty Falkirk) because I see ZERO evidence of any moves to explore what managerial options are outside the club. All of this *process* has been a smokescreen from start to finish. They've known they'd hire within and take a chance all along because there's been no compo and...well...not to put too fine a point on it...they're a bunch of lying cheap crooks taking the piss (as per) out of the people who deserve much more than they can offer.

Oh please Dave, what 'evidence' were you expecting to see ffs?

& what evidence do you have that the 'process' is a smokescreen?

There's plenty to have a go at the current incumbents about that has a basis in fact, making up your own narrative in order to create another one, is both unnecessary & tbh unfair. Wait until the fat lady warbles before erecting the guillotine.

Can't we just have a battle royal/hunger games style competition, throw all the managers linked with us in it and whoever wins gets the job?

Porto fan on VP

And by the way, is my opinion: I have been an advocate of VP (more in the circle of friends with whom I discuss football, than actually forum). Not being a brilliant coach, I recognize her competence, integrity and honesty. More, the VP recognize someone who has a sense of play and how to operationalize this model. More humility might have been one of their biggest problems. Since the first press conference (presentation, the day was made official output AVB) until today, the trend is apparent. I pity this man, FC Porto, humble and competent, has been overlooked by the fans. Fortunately, a much larger slice it recognizes credits. And credits to whoever has managed to preserve and protect, and renew (Pinto da Costa). We are not a club ungrateful. That said ...

I think the cycle must end. Despite the good results in the league against benficas perhaps the best ever, it is a fact that in other competitions "knew a little thing." Moreover, with the likely output Moutinho and James, and the age of Lucho, do not know to what extent we squad to keep the same style of possession. New players can dictate new models and philosophies.
Even for VP, I think the output will be the best option. Markets certainly will not fail you, and earn bunk across borders will make him a more complete coach. Sometimes only success abroad can change public opinion internally. Would that be the case.
