I know there is another Moyes thread but felt due to the suicide rate currently on everton forums, i felt it needed its own thread

DAVID MOYES last night reiterated his commitment to Everton – as Bill Kenwright moved to reassure supporters over new signings.
While Moyes and his squad have continued their tour to the United States, speculation has raged back on Merseyside during the past 24 hours that he was poised to resign his post as Goodison manager.
The rumours were sparked by comments made by a disappointed Moyes after the 2-0 defeat to Chicago Fire in the early hours of Thursday morning.
But, speaking in Denver yesterday, the Scot has rubbished suggestions of his imminent departure and insists talks over a new contract could be concluded in the next fortnight.
“I am not going anywhere,” said Moyes. “I am here and intend to see the job through. We have great expectations and I hope that I am able to fulfil them.”
Of a new deal, he added: “I hope that maybe we can try and get together in the next week or two and sort something out.
“At the moment my energies are focused on bringing in new players. We have a certain amount of money to improve what we have got here.”
Moyes reckons Everton need “three or four” big money arrivals to bolster their squad, with Sporting Lisbon playmaker Joao Moutinho, Rennes midfielder Stephane M’Bai and Real Zaragoza’s Argentina striker Diego Milito high on his wanted list.
“I will not bring in just for the sake of it,” said Moyes. “We need to bring in three or four main players that are going to cost big money and my standards are that high that I’m not going to bring them down.
“We need to bring in better players now to try and help the squad. But we don’t have bundles of cash.”
The lack of new arrivals so far in the transfer window has heightened anxiety among Everton supporters.
And Goodison chairman Kenwright was compelled to release a statement yesterday reassuring fans of the continued work behind the scenes to reinforce the squad.
“Whilst I can fully understand the sense of frustration being felt by our supporters in the wake of what some perceive to be a moratorium with regard to the signing of new players, I feel it is important to make a few points,” said Kenwright.
“Our attempts to complete the signings of players we believe will improve the quality of our first-team squad continues on an hourly
basis. We have had a budget for incoming transfers since the start of the summer – and that budget is in no way reliant or dependent upon either the proposed relocation of the club to Kirkby or the sale of current players.
“Indeed, any proceeds from outgoing transfers will – you can rest assured – be added to the existing budget to strengthen our manager’s hand as he seeks to enter the transfer market.
Kenwright continued: “David and myself have been trying throughout the close season to sign those players whom he believes will help to improve the squad which achieved so much during the last campaign.
“Like everyone connected with Everton Football Club I am desperately keen to see the arrival at Goodison Park of those players our manager would like to see in a blue shirt come next season. I appreciate that waiting can be hard and that patience is invariably in short supply but we do expect to make signings before the opening of the new Premier League season.”

And breathe in, breathe out......relax!(y)

We can rest asy now

This statement allays all our fears.

Moyes is staying.

Were getting players.

We have a decent amount of money for them.

The only worry ive got now is me theory test at 11 o clock

Love it when he says "my standards are that high and im not going to bring them down" cant wait to see who he has in mind, in moyes we trust(y)

Great to hear it from the Moyesiah himself, that he'll not be leaving. Most important signing of the summer for sure. Now bring on those high qualty players and lets get ready to fight that so called big 4 next season.(y)

Merseyside and Devon Samaritans cancel all leave

Some RS fans who plunged on Davy Moyes being the first managerial casualty are being kept on "suicide watch" now that news has emerged that the great man is "going nowhere". A Samaritans spokesman Bluey Winnar was quoted this morning - "we have cancelled all leave in the Merseyside area, and, I understand, in Devon and Dorset, in anticipation of a threefold increase of desparation calls!" It is understood that a few men, including possibly a heavy gambler known only as Sad Red Loser, have staked large amounts with leading bookmakers in the hope of cashing in on David Moyes leaving as Everton manager and becoming the first casualty of the season. Some ppl are easily pleased.

We have great expectations and I hope that I am able to fulfil them. = If we dont im gone.

We need to bring in three or four main players. = wheres the 5-6 he said we needed.

Anyway, this doesnt solve anything, we are still @ the same point, if he doesnt get the players, which is clearly down to lack of ENOUGH money, he wont sign his contract, cos yea hes soooooooooooooooo busy that he hasnt had 5minutes to sign his contract for the last 3 months.

But i suppose it all helps, 1st BK comes out and says it, then Moyes comes out and says it. Now we have had the words, lets see some action.

Actions speak louder than words!!

They'v said what they wanted. Time to get the [Poor language removed] sorted.

yep its good that both kenwright and moyes have both pinned there flags to the mast.

we may be in the same boat as we were yesterday but atleast we know we aim to be moving in the right direction and as the post above says "now we need action".

(anyone get the impression moyes kenwright and earl were thrashing things out yesterday morning to a good conclusion ?)

ps some people are just full of it.
looking over the posts from yesterday all the people saying "i told you so" .
in truth you knew as much as the panic mongerers.
people saying "its gonna be fine" was just as much guess work as "things are gonna be bad."
agreed some people need to stop dragging there knuckles but a fair few need to get off there high horse also.

Good points though, I hope something happens to actually back up the talk.

And some people are too cynical.
