How significant is finishing above the red side two seasons in a row?

As a red i genuinely feel sorry for your club. Im sure you have your own opinions but personally, i blame the decline in lfc and efc fan relations on moyes with his wind up the reds comments when he first arrived. I was at the 89 final and the chanting of merseyside by both sets of fans was magnificent! There is no doubt that the deterioration of those relations started when he arrived IMO . I personally can't stand the man for what he has done to your club. He along with his paymaster have pulled the wool over your eyes for the past decade with their snake oil, if moyes had any balls at all he would have tried to bring pressure on lovey darling to either invest in your club or **** off. As it stands lovey darling has just blown smoke up moyes arse and in return moyes has accepted a cushy job without rocking the boat. The people who have suffered the most by this are you lot! Between them they have tried to lower your expectations of what the club can achieve and to my mind that's ****ing criminal for a team like everton you have justed celebrated 10 years under moyes! Think about that for a minute, ten years of accepting mediocraty and excuses.im sorry but what exactly is there to celebrate in that! You need rid of them both and you need them replaced by a chairman and manager with balls and high expectations for the club.

I'd love to see lfc and efc challenging consistently for honours and doing so like we used to with a sense of honour and mutual respect that other clubs and city's couldn't understand or match. Having spoken to a number of toffees I know, and having looked at the number of dissalusioned posts I have read, I think you are 100% right it's time for a change and I hope you get somebody in who isn't content with playing the underdog card. Your club and its supporters deserve much better than that, you may not get some billionaire sheik but you just need somebody who isn't just interested in serving their own needs and telling you that mediocrity is the best you can hope for.

Fu**ing well said lad. Good to have a balanced view from a red without the piss taking, especially after you just did us for the third time.

Well said Observer lad.

Why does Moyes go into this game saying we're big underdogs when we're above them in the league? Bottler.

Cheers, you have to make a stand for what's right. I honestly don't think people understand how lfc and efc fans think about their clubs. As a people we want the best and expect 100% commitment in trying to achieve that from our players, managers and our chairmen. We were lucky, that we got rid of that face rubbing joke hodgeson when we did! What sort of manager starts his stewardship of a club by saying the best we can hope for is meh? Even if it's true, you don't want to hear it, you need ambition and belief, without that attitude you are defeated before you even start!!

You sure you're a red. You sound balanced, and have it spot on.

Completely knee jerk but i said before he mugged of the recent analfield derby he needs to win the cup to redeeem himself, he didnt and should go.

time for him to go,sitting back on 1-0 leads in a semi,a liverpool team on a worst run of form since the 50's and we still surrendered, moyes os nothing special, even roberto martinez and brendon rodgers would have took it to the red****e in the second half instead of clinging on to a desperate 1-0 win

My thoughts on Moyes (obviously coloured by yesterday, but I have been consistent in my doubts for a while):

Manager/ chairman relationship: Way too cosy.

When these type of relationships are too cosy, it becomes difficult for the chairman to deliver a good bollocking when one is required - can you imagine Kenwright coming close to doing that?

Relationships with players:Moyes will persist in playing certain players regardless of their form, the requirements of the team or the form of players competing for their places. This damages the confidence of both the player and that of the individual competing for his place. The player's confidence drops with every poor performance, and damages team morale as a whole.

I said this on a few other threads, pointed out by one of our greek posters, it appears that what may happen is that players have guaranteed premier league minutes written into their contracts, which is foolish, may explain this point you've made
