At what point would Baines and Coleman stop listening to Moyes and start listening to Martinez? Crossing the halfway line? When we are not in possession?
Sound idea that.
Moyes set the team up to defend as a team from the striker through to the goalkeeper. Martinez sets the up the team to attack from the goalkeeper through to the striker. Theres a fundamental difference in philosophy there I feel. Not to say Moyes didn't play lovely stuff with us at times as he did, but Moyes pragmatic approach was always Defence first and we'll go from there.
While we have conceded goals by the bucket, playing Stones at CB seems to have brought the composure we needed to cut out those individual mistakes that we were conceding from. Look much more solid than we have, maybe not quite where we were at last season yet but nearer.
Look, I know the Poo Pooers and the Nay Sayers have a completely valid point, but lets break away from the usual threads and think outside the pitch for a second.
I don't remember when the 'Sweeper' came in, but boy there would have been some folks up in arms about that let me tell you.
Our exclusive Everton pint glasses are a true collector’s item that pays homage to Goodison Park through iconic players who have graced the pitch over different generations.
