Why cant cahill be african so barkley can have a chance

oh wait ... moyes would play mcfadden instead.

Moyes cant be a bad racist unless he intentionally plays Saha and Anichebe when fit with the intent of them looking crap so he can laugh at them.

quite frankly(and i don't mean that chap Drebin) my dear i don't give a damn. Jags, Howard, Neville, Distin, Hibbo all punt like they were taking a field goal in the last second of the superbowl everytime they get the ball....sorry whats this thread about again  ? Oh yeah Akon i don't like his chart hits sorry.

It's a significant consideration in my view. If you have a small squad and key positions filled by players who will disappear every two years for 4 of the most crucial weeks of the season in Jan/Feb it can have a huge effect on your whole season. We can't afford that - imagine Baines or Fellaini had to go this year.

Also it is a more pressing issue this season than ever before as the ACON is changing from even years to odd years to ensure that it doesn't fall in WC years, therefore there is ACON 2012 and ACON 2013.

A more pertinent question might be why do FIFA sanction this tournament every two years? Surely it should be every four years in line with other major tournaments (such as WC, Euros etc).

You're talking far too much sense. Your post is bound to be ignored.

This thread quite literally belongs in an episode of Hollyoaks or maybe Eastenders.

Have people now decided to ignore reality and start making things up about Moyes?

He fell out with Yobo because he kept hoofing it and wasn't up to it. Lisbon saw to that. He fell out with Yakubu because the cheeky tit asked for a 25% pay rise. Pienaar wanted a big pay day and there was no falling out.

But hey why let reality get in the way or some great stirring and misinformation?

What a complete load of rubbish. You actually think he fell out with Yobo becuase he was hoofing it??? Are you for real??

He fell out with Yobo becuase Yobo refused to play against Stoke, saying he was injured, but then 3 days later appeared for Nigeria in a friendly.

I'm sure that Damon is correct and that Moyes is such a staunch anti-hoofer that he would send his one time captain out on a permanent loan rather than let him near Finch Farm ever again.

i heard that Jags, Yobo and Neville give it so much hoof that Moyes had them shod at a blacksmith. Ambivalent about the afcon, it can be disruptive to the squad halfway through the season, but there is undoubtedly talent on show. Often availablspottingcheaply. Given the club's perilous finances you'd think it would be fertile ground for us in terms of potential talent spotting. Also, every other club in the prem has to deal with the absences usually, just some clubs have better squads. Equally the world cup and euro champs can have a negative effect. Players come back wrecked, exhausted or filled with ideas of 'bigger things'. Tournaments suck balls, like.

Yakubu was offered a contract, then got injured (was it at spurs?) and the deal that was on the table was quickly withdrawn. That's what I remember being told, it's quite possible that it was Bill that was offering the world before getting conformation of whether or not we could actually afford it, a similar thing happened with Gosling I believe as well i.e. offering him the keys to the city on the euphoria of 'that goal.'

You're right. If Moyes is trawling through the markets looking for bargains, he seems to be giving Africa a wide berth. I would imagine that we're one of the few clubs in the top 10 with no players going to the ACON.
