Moyes and a new contract

If he signs a contract just feathering his own nest again without nailing down guarantees on investment then, quite frankly, it's not great news.

You see mate my issue is, you say moyes should walk if he does not get assurances from the board. I can't understand that mentality of thinking. Surely we would much rather have moyes at the helm then any other manager because he has proven he can manage successfully within the shocking financial constraints dealt to him. Because if moyes goes the new manager which comes in is still going to be working under the same constraints as moyes, so surely moyes is the best man for the job. You go on about the salary he is on. For me personally he is worth every penny of that and more. Are you saying that moyes is not the best man for the job at Everton and somebody else could do better under the same financial restrictions? Why are you bitter towards him? Actually why are you bitter towards everything Everton. Yes there are things far from great at the club but not everything is shocking and unacceptable as you seem to want to paint it.

It goes with the territory when you say you're ambitious and want to win things. If he cant or wont demand investment then he's really no use to us in terms of winning trophies. If you want to crack the top half of the table every season and call it success, go right ahead and be my guest. It's not my definition.

BTW, that statement by Moyes about waiting until the end of the season to determine what sort of campaign they've had: does he really need another 8 games to arrive at any other conclusion than it was a complete and utter car crash?

This is what i mean about settling for top half finishes, calling it success, and not demanding more cash to push on.

Mate the manager can not control this. Lets says moyes goes because bill or the board says there is no sign of investment. What have we achieved as a club there? Nothing. The board are not then going to say oh look david moyes has just resigned cause we got no investment we better get investment. No of course they won't. So then all that happens a new manager then comes in and will have to work under the constraints given to him by the board and we are worse off in having lost a top manager. For me hope he signs for another 10 years. However please don't mistake my praise for moyes as the same for the board.

Not many top flight managers on a wage like his have immunity from the sack...

I'll be amazed if he optionally decided to leave any time soon. He likes playing the pauper.

Have you been to the match since Moyes has been here? Just asking, because if you have you are guilty of exactly the same bull**** you are accusing Moyes of...

Probably the most ridiculous post of the day...and I haven't even looked at that match thread yet!

Why's that, davek?

You are calling on Moyes, an employee of the club, to do something which may or may not be in his immediate interests (in other words, to not sign a new contract) because of your viewpoint.

Given that viewpoint, forcefully expressed over the last few years, the least I would expect of you when you are calling for someone (who is not necessarily as committed to the club as you) to take action, is to equally show your own contempt for the Kenwright and Moyes axis by not putting money in the pockets of the current regime.

Otherwise, sir, you are a coward and a hypocrite.

Moyes. Where everton used to be
Moyes. Here everton are today.

7th, on a budget in comparison, and crippling injuries.

These are facts. Wind your necks in, you don't know how lucky we are. He is far from perfect, but he is better than most.

:lol::lol:

Get a grip FFS!

What is it I'm being accused of here? If you think I'm calling for Moyes to throw his toys out of the pram and walk off into the sunset you're wrong. My point is that he should get his message out there loud and clear that he wants backing to crack on. The fellers flame proof. The board couldn't sack him and he'd be placing pressure on them to pull their finger out and find something.

Jesus wept, some people.

Sorry, davek, I'm sympathetic to some of your politics and sympathetic to some of your points on Everton. But I think you are a snide when it comes to Moyes, who is intelligent enough and practical enough to do exactly what you are saying he should do in his own way. Unless of course you think he is thick and in thrall to BK? But I would like to see you have the testicles to come out and say that one way or the other.

Let's face it, you are the Militant Tendency of Everton supporters - you just go on and on so long that everyone goes home and gets on with their normal lives.

You must be the most unobservant poster on the board. I've always, ALWAYS, supported Moyes...even if I let rip on occasion what I think are his unwanted shoring up of Kenwright.

Sorry mate, but you've gone off half cocked here.

No matter.

Without doing a boring trawl through davek's past posts, I take issue with his unalloyed lurrve for Moyes. I remember numerous occasions where he has been ****ged for being a conscious pawn in Kenwright's plans for global domination.

But, as he says, no matter. Kissy, kissy.
