If he signs a contract just feathering his own nest again without nailing down guarantees on investment then, quite frankly, it's not great news.

Harsh he is paid to manage the football team, which he has done with gusto - he cant nor should he do everything - to be honest i dont think its right a manager gets involved in the politcs of the club at board level, by all means advocate on behalf of the footballing side/transfer funds etc. But threating to leave etc if a takeover doesnt happen is lemming stuff.
It goes with the territory when you say you're ambitious and want to win things. If he cant or wont demand investment then he's really no use to us in terms of winning trophies. If you want to crack the top half of the table every season and call it success, go right ahead and be my guest. It's not my definition.
BTW, that statement by Moyes about waiting until the end of the season to determine what sort of campaign they've had: does he really need another 8 games to arrive at any other conclusion than it was a complete and utter car crash?
This is what i mean about settling for top half finishes, calling it success, and not demanding more cash to push on.
But he is also quoted as saying that he wont put the club in jepordy financially if you accept that all the money we make goes back into the club, is it not rational to think that he realises we are at full tilt, i think what you are hinting at is that you want Moyes to step outside his role as a football manager and put pressure on the board to seek outside investment or else borrow - frankly i dont think thats the job he is or should be emplyed for.
I wonder if he sits in his office and says, i wish the fans would get of their backsides and put some pressure on the board to give me funds.
If he wont put pressure on the board and give them an ultimatum then he cant really complain if he's underfunded...which he's done throughout the time he's been at the club. If he accepts what's on the table then he has no room for complaint.
As the old saying goes: "Cap in hand gets kick in teeth."
Has he complained really or just commented on the situation after being asked questions be the media, as far as i can recollect he has said on almost all occasion the board have backed him compleatly and to the hilt in terms of whats healthy for the club - know that drives you chicken oriental. They havnt provided him with as much as either myself or yourself would like - but i think there is more context and realism needed in terms of the nodding dog scenario you suggest.
Lets be honest, if we spend 20 mill in the summer, 10 mill of that is added to the over all debt and increases our intrest payments (not to mention wages), many and probably yourself would kick of about the board putting the club in jepordy.
Yet this seems to be what you are suggesting Moyes demands - reading between the lines you want this as you just dont like the board, i think your letting personl feeling dictate what is probably the worng actions for a football manager. Lets be honest you want someone to throw money at the club, create a Villaesqe unsustainable bubble or model and eventually end up exactly where we started.
Why would it need to be debt? There are two ways to avoid it being debt:
Back to Moyes: 'has he complained' you ask. Yes, he's complained often...unless you think comparing his lot with other big spending managers at regular intervals isn't underlining why he cant compete with them and by definition a complaint.
- The majority owners back a share issue (which even uber tit and boardroom confidante, Tom Cannon, now believes should happen).
- The fabulously rich men inside and outside the boardroom could fund spending in the club they are responsible for.
