Moyes An His Contract.....

Moyes has done well at Everton. Turned us from a club battling relegation to a side trying to make European football.

But let's face it, Moyes in over a decade here has won nothing. He's achieved zero. Perhaps this is the right time for a new manager...

iam also starting to think that if he has no intention of staying he should leave after we get knocked out of the cup (if it unfortunetly happens),to give a new manager time to bed in for next season, lets face it,we,ve probably blown 4th.
id go straight for martinez, but sadly the inepts who run the club would probably drag their heels and we,d end up with any 2 from weir/stubbs/round/ferguson/neville.

Think he'll sign a short extension, say like 2 years which will give mean that he'll be keen to move on in between if an opportunity at a stable club with funds arises.

Any idea of who that new manager should be leading us to silware on the same budget as Moyes had to to with?

Any new manager has a 99% chance of doing worse than Moyes.

This isn't just me plucking stats from the air it is based on fact. When the league finishing position of every club in the Premier League era is compared to the clubs wage bill there is an almost exact correlation. Only two clubs have outperfomed their wage bill to any statistically significant effect. Bolton under Big Sam and Everton under Moyes. For every other club you could have had any one manager and it would have made no difference to where they finished.

To say Moyes has "achieved zero" is really just nonsense. He has taken a club who had finished in the top half of the league once in the previous decade to one who has finished outside the top 8 just twice. This has enabled us to watch the likes of Fellaini and Baines.

We've won the 5th most amount of point of any team in his time in charge.

In short, losing Moyes will be a disaster for this club.

I,m amazed how much time blues spend on here trying to convince themselves that Moyes is not good enough or wont last at a bigger club.

Most blue should be worried about life after moyes with the current owners. They have no plan, never have, they,ve just relied on Moyes every season and gave him nothing to do it.

Apparently Roberto Martinez is the man.

His experience of scraping survival, having the worst goal difference in the league and spending £6m on Boselli despite having a wage budget only 20% a season less than Everton makes him a dead cert to succeed.

For some wage budget perspective:

Wigan: £45m
Everton: £60m
Aston Villa:£85m
Liverpool:£110m
Arsenal: £110m

Alright, I'm convinced. Bye bye Davey Moyes, welcome Roberto Martinez.

How long before we're in the CL you reckon?

I fear you are very right and there is a danger that some time soon these same people will be those harking back to the romantic days of Moyes overachieving on our meagre budget whilst we return to the perennial relegation dog fight.
