Arteta is trying to help the cause. The fans and players knows what we need. Now the backroom need to get things sorted. Surely we have plan B's if plan A's don't materialize.

It's a ridiculous thing to say, he knows as much as we do.

How do you know that?

Moyes has said the players are always asking about who's coming, maybe Moyes has told him something.

I'm not saying he does but it's possible he could know something. He is around the club/finch farm 24/7.

Imagine how the rumors fly around finch farm... between the players and the staff, wondering who it was that just drove in in a tinted bmw, etc...

He's too small, too expensive and just Moyesy's way of testing the board and getting his way out of the mess we are in.

He's as big as Paul Scholes, is Paul Scholes too small?

If you've got ability height does not matter, it's not like the likes of Fabregas, Scholes, Arteta etc are tall is it. Height isn't needed for a creative midfielder.

Size does matter! No way he's as tall as Scholes, Fabregas etc. Have you ever seen him play? I agree, in the right team, a ballplayer like him would do well. But not with us at the moment. He's too much of a risk at that price. When we get bought out by a billionaire then maybe.

He's not a risk at all. Hes one of the best players in portugal. Captain at 20 years old, national team at 19. Size doesnt matter, if he does come into the team he would most likely replace Osman/pienaar maybe even Cahill. That is providing we sign a DM also...

He's 5ft 7 which is around the same size as Scholes. If you've got ability, movement and a footballing brain height isn't a problem. It's not like where buying him to be our ball winner, lets be realistic. There are very few tall creative midfielders, it's not a position that requires height.

Ofcourse I've seen him play, he's a quality player and he'd greatly improve this team. He's improve our distribution and ball retention, he's tenacious and works hard and he can play in a variety of roles.

If you want quality you have the pay the money, if we paid 15-20 million for Moutinho he'd definatly pay it back. He's only 21, he's already a very good player and he's got the potential to keep on improving.

Moyes is saying he's got money to spend and Moutinho is supposedly priority. Lets see what happens.

This is dragging on way too long to be true. If it's only a couple of million more than our last bid, surely it's not too hard to fork out since we are DESPERATE!! BLOODY DESPERATE!! GET IT DONE FOR [Poor language removed] SAKE!!

Awful post, hes too small for a center back or a goal keeper but you know i dont think we'd be playing him in the sticks. I'm sure you thought Zola was too short as well...

Too expensive? Have you seen some of the prihce tags going around this summer? Comparatively he's a bargain, proven at club level, international level still young enough to actually become even better. Look at how much Rooney went for and this lad has all the skill (if not more) and prob better credentials without the attitude.

Moyesy's way of testing the board? Well its about time somebody [Poor language removed] did, hes proven he can get results with a shoe string budget and now hes askin for the cash to start competin at the top level and maybe start rolling in the big bucks, if anyones worth a risk on giving the money its moyes.

And as for gettin out of mess we are in well we werent in a mess at the end of last season and im pretty sure Moyes has had his eye on this lad since then so its not like this is a quick fix hes just thought up. Besides signing an international class midfielder would go a long way to cheering the fans up, getting much needed cover in midfield, encouraging our other midfielders to push for their place and give the lads the boost that they are at a club that can actually attract quality players and may be going somewhere.
