Blackburn's David Bentley could be a Tottenham player by the weekend after having a medical on Wednesday.

I only read they had made a bid yesterday!???? See this is how other clubs do transfers, quickly!

Can we try steal their CEO.

No, Bentley is well over-priced, and over rated. I doubt Moyes was even interested, especially at a price approaching 20m.

You meen this...........looks good!!

Moyes is supposedly got sufficient transfer funds so we are led to believe, so why is it stated that we will use the money we get for Johnson to snap up Moutinho? I am not suggesting that these rumours are true and understand AJ wanted to leave Goodison, but if we have the money to spend on bringing in new faces, why have we been so inactive thus far??

radio city said this morning moyes has been given all the money from the AJ transfer, when he signs for them.

Well maybe, and this is what I think. Fat head wanted to curb the spending and save it for Kirkby. Kenwright (who has had doubts about Kirkby), wanted to give Moyes the money for transfers. Moyes threatened to not sign the contract until he was given assurances over the team, and not the long term future of the ground. Moyes has been known to side against Kirkby.

So a battle of wills ensued, and there is no way Kenwright was going to lose Moyes, so Wyness has clearly seen his arse, realised he's not going to get his way and make some cash out of Kirkby, and has jumped ship.

This is quickly followed by a statement from Moyes that he is going to sign his contract in the next two weeks, but he is working on getting in some new faces first. I don't believe AJ staying or going had anything to do with Moyes looking at bringing in Moutinho.

Moyes has got the money, he said he wants to get 5 or 6 players, and he has showed ambition by going after moutinho, therefore has money. He has said this morning that he is waiting for the transfers to be sorted before his new contract, id expect 3 or 4 transfres in the next week or so.

As for moutinho, bid the 25 million euros, hes worth it.

When did Moyes say he was against Kirkby? Thought he was exciting of the prospect of a new stadium, had to put some of his own imput in like the training ground?

I don't know if he has ever actually come out against Kirkby....

But I don't really recall him championing it at all (I discount 'his' statement on the DK site from early on as this is clearly an exercise in PR/spin from the club ).

I too always believed Moyes was all for a move to Kirkby. I agree with most of what our gaffer has to say and do, but i dont share his same feelings over a move out of the city's boundaries (n).

He never speaks about all that stuff anyway, its the team and the football he talks about, nothing else.

Most managers never speak about what happens in the board anyway...unless your a spanish waiter

True.

I do seem to recall an interview or two though where his response to direct questions didn't exactly come across as amazingly pro-kirkby.

As you say though, all he cares about is on the pitch, and it isn't really his place to be commenting much on Kirkby.

In response to a direct question once whether he was in favour of a move or staying put he just said something like "well lets just say I'm a traditionalist". Sorry I've no reference or link or anything. Perhaps someone else can oblige.
