Moutinho - all talk in here please.

The experts that say we are punching above our weight is one or two.

Moyes paid 15 mill as he thought he was worth it. That is the type of expert I listen to.

I guess you are now saying that your opinions on talent are better than Moyes. Fair play to you.

I understand age breeds experience and you will get it in time, but to write off Fellaini in a new country, in a new league, in a new team to him, and yet he still scores and shows adaptability is soft. His tackles were clumsy as he was still tackling at a different league pace and not at a prem pace. this will come also.

He has a great touch, and plays a great pass. He knows where to be when the ball comes to the box, so he obviously has awareness.

This is not about familiarity in his environment, this is about league acclimatisation.

You are right about it being your opinion. You are entitled to it. After all, opinions are like arseholes. Everyone has one.

Don't have to patronising. Im 16, not a retard.

The opinions on talent bit....Do your opinions become better as you grow older? No. Your opinions may change, but they are by no means better. The point of your opinion is that you think it is right.

Weather it is correct or not, is not to be decided by any expert, as that would only be their opinion.

Opinions spark debate - this is a debate. Just because I don't take Moyes' side in everything he does, doesn't mean my opinions are 'better' than his.

The only reason this Fellaini thing is so discussed, is because he cost £15M.

Moyes obviously rates Hibbert, as he wouldn't get in to his side every week if he didn't. Yet I don't see anyone on here ganging up on people and 'ripping them to shreds' (as I was promised, but never recieved), because they think Hibbert is not good enough.

I could have used the 'So you think your opinions are better than Moyes' because he plays Hibbert every week', but I didn't. I actually argued my point, instead of just agreeing with Moyes.

Just watch Fellaini scoring the winner at Wembley on saturday. Suddenly those that dont rate him will worship the ground he walks on. The day Fellaini moves on will be the day Everton will make a very tidy profit on him, but that wont be for 5 or 6 years yet, hopefully longer.

You know what mate, I wouldn't love anything better for him to score at Wembley.

But it still won't make me think he's a good player.

Agreed, I'd much rather watch the game and form my own opinion.

I don't need "experts" telling me who is good and who is not.

As everything else, it's all a matter of opinion. I for one am convinced Fellaini will become a very good player for Everton. He's only young and just had his first season in a completely different league culture to where he grew up in. In a few years time, Fellaini will be an integral part of our team, of that there's no doubt in my mind.

Would love to get Moutinho, but how trustworthy are those Sentanta reports?

To be honest, ive never known Setanta to make things up...yet ive never known them to make many transfer rumours.

Still though, I think it's probably a bit of lazy journalism to fill up the spaces on their site, with this weeks hottest gossip to be honest.

Getting Moutinho, a quality right sided midfielder and a top forward and we are sorted out. My only concerns if we captured Moutinho would be where would he play and who would lose out?

We'd have to sell a few players to afford Moutinho, and Moyes isn't one to sell loyal players even if it would improve the team in the end. Anichebe is a different matter with the fall-out but he'd only generate a few mil.

What I'm saying is if this were footy manager I'd snap up Jacobsen on a free and sell Hibbert and Osman to get Moutinho. And it would improve the team. A lot. Because Osman has had two good games this entire season and the only way forward is to get top-class players into the starting 11, the weak link must always go.

But yeah, we can't afford him with just our kitty.

Here's what I think Steevie.... not going to like it but......

Drop Fellaini, push Cahill back to his original position, and play Moutinho and Neville in the middle!

Here would be my line-up, Moutinho on the right side of midfield. Fellaini on the bench.

Neville--Jagielka-Lescott-Baines
Moutinho-Rodwell-Arteta-Pienaar
----------------Cahill---------------
-----------------Yak------------

But how good is mout on the right? I thought he was a central creative midfielder similar to Arteta.

Where's sotnas when you need him eh? I'll have to search this monster thread now!

He's fine on the right. He's better in the center but he's pretty good on the right.

But Arteta has been spectacular in the center and I don't think we need two creative midfielders there, we need a holding player too (Rodwell).

Of course what's useful is if Arteta gets injured Moutinho can play in the center.

Hmmm. I'd prefer we spent most of our budget on a dedicated right sided player, where we are weakest. Also we have Cahill, Fellaini, Arteta, Rodwell and Neville all covering the 3 CMs in a 451. I think another CM would be one too many really. Unless as you say Moutinho can play well enough on the right (or arteta goes back out there - but would he be happy with that?)

I think we need a bit of pace! on the right. As it stands we have some very good players but some pace would make us more dangerous.

One of my best friends was the Newcastle fan for Setanta Sports News yesterday (Was ******* hilarious watching him as they slipped out the Prem :D)

He told me today that all the Setanta lads were discussing Moutinho at one point, saying it looks like a dead cert.

Fingers crossed
