Saha Cahill had great games yesterday IMO. Im going to give it to Lescott though i thought he had his best game of the season for us yesterday.

As possibly he is biggest critic, i think its fair to say Howard had a great game yesterday too, still not a fan though.

Shared between Jagielka for his excellent defending, and Saha for showing his undoubted class when it mattered.

Agreed, past two games i didnt even realise he was playing.

Saha for me.

The thing about Tim is you dont relise the job he does for the team untill he is out of the side.

He led by example yestersday in terms of running, being dogged, taking players out of the side, he made some important tackles, and in many ways dictated the tone and tempo of our game. Even when he doesnt get on the end of things he takes a man out of the game in the box as hes always a threat.

Hes often our firstline defence and for me his coming back into midfeild closeing down, harrying players and genreally being a nuisence was a large part of us containing them yesterday. Is it a coincidence we have conceded less goals since his return. Defending starts from the front.

Disagree Neiler. He was a liability Yesterday. He's not a ball winner and he is certainly not a good passer of the ball. Not for me in a four man midfield containing no other ball winners...

"Many ways dictated the tone and tempo of our game" - I'm not having that.

Cahill looked better when he moved deeper into midfield. He actually started to get involved a bit. He definatly improved second half but I wouldn't say he was man of match.

I'd go for Saha because of his ten minutes of class, he's a match winner and it's good to have him here.

On Howard, he beat Southall's record yesterday. The most clean sheets in the first 100 games or something like that. Good to see.

I thought he played well yesterday mate, i think we certainly play well when hes in the side, i disagree the reason Moyes says hes an important player for us isnt all about our goals, theres a tenacity a more of a doggedness and battleing in us when Cahill is in the side, i bleleive this transfers to other players and thats what i mean about the tone and tempo of the game.

I thought he was a big influence on the win yesterday and similarly agaunst Fulham albeit illeagly he compleatly took Bullard out of the game when he was looking a huge danger, he went of injured and Cahill did him. As well as the attributes i mentioned above, his expierence is critcal and that was telling in the win yesterday as i beleive was his influence in slowiing West Hams ability to break quickly which alowed our defenders time to concentrate and take positions.

Again you only notice what Cahill brings to the team when hes not in it, maybe its not so much what he does on the ball but what he does of it, and when we're not in possecion that has an influence on the team.

I'd say Jagielka for some very effective shot blocking and for constantly being on call to break down each repeated attack as west ham walked through our midfield time and time again.

I agree usually, Cahill is definitely prone to bring the best out of the rest of the lads, in particular Osman but recently I think Cahill has been right of the boil.

Between Howard, Anichebe and Saha for me, but Howard kept us in the match with some fantastci saves so ill say him. Saha got 2 goals yes, but didnt do much for the first 60 minutes did he?
