Pienaar - 1st touch is second to none. Covers more ground than anyone else and wins a fair few free kicks...

Just wish he wouldn't go down quite so easily and would work on his final shot/pass...

I think Lescott just shaded out Jags at the back, plus he scored.

The whole back 4 played well and didnt put a foot wrong.

Pienarr worked very very hard and looked our best player on the ball attacking wise but couldnt do anything with the few chances he had to hurt the rs.

Credit where it's due mate. He rarely makes mistakes. He sticks the boot in when he needs to, he takes control when the keeper doesn't shout. He can tackle, head, and I believe he can pass, its just the rest of the team are not on his long wavelength.

Comparing him to 1 of our greatest captains ever is taking it a bit too far though, he isnt fit to lace the great Rats boots

lescott because of the goal, then jags then baines. i think somepeople are being a bit too hard on howard. he made some great saves that could have won them the game, gerrard 7 yards out springs to mind.
ps is castillo trying to make himself the new nyarko? thats his worst game for us i think.

The goal tips it for lescott if not it would have been Jags. As mentioned, Piennar always looked neat. As for Gosling think he'll be a fixture in the first team this time next year
