McCarthy but tbh you could make a case for most of the lads.

Jags was immense again and Alcaraz had probably his best game in an Everton shirt. Lennon's workrate was superb and he even did a great defensive header which I had to rewatch just to be sure I had seen it right. Atsu made a nice cameo and Ross took his goal well, hopefully that will give him some much needed confidence.

Rom seems to have switched into another gear the past couple of matches and it is wonderful to watch. Osman and Gibson showed the value of their intelligent passing, Baines/Coleman looked closer to their old selves and Kone held the ball up well. Possbily most surprising of all Howard made a couple of good saves.

Shout out to Martinez too, he had huge pressure on him this game and he wasn't afraid to change things around.

Managed to get rom of early , great with Thursday in mind ,macca too ,even 10 mins is better than nothing.

Lukaku, Lennon, McCarthy and Gibson would all be in with a shout. Struggling to choose one of them over the other three, and don't understand why Lennon was taken off.

Osman faded as the game wore on IMHO, and Kone was nothing special - he certainly doesn't look like he's going to score ten in a season for us. Jagielka had the sort of game we need / expect him to have every week and it's actually a poor reflection on his season so far that today's shift is viewed by people as exceptional. But a very welcome improvement nonetheless.

Alcaraz did indeed have the best game he's had in his short Everton career, but in actuality all that means is he didn't stink the place out as he normally does. Same goes for Howard. Coleman and Baines looked like they are approaching the previous high levels we became so accustomed to from them.

Atsu had a nice cameo - showed more than McGeady ever has. Ross looked good too. Would have preferred both Atsu and Besic to have come on a little earlier though. Five minutes here and there is not enough for either of them. I was impressed with RM giving Naismith and Mirallas both a rest ahead of Kiev - very wise.
