Never got the fuss over the Manic Street Preachers, although Motor Cycle Emptiness is a tune and a half.

Oasis are a decent pub rock outfit but never heard anyone rate them highly tbh. Radiohead are massively more overrated as they're clearly good, but held up as a transformative force in music when they're nowhere close to that tier.

REM are hugely overrated if you go back and listen to their albums (no one does this). They're obv good - who doesn't like a best of REM now and again, but have a very inflated status in the US. I think it was slim pickings there for that sort of college radio music in the 80s and they were one of the few decent bands around that didn't fit into an obvious genre.

I seen teenage fan club support Radiohead in 97/98 I think. Like Radiohead but have to be in the right mood. Teenage fan club I remember being extreme banal

Well it's not like Teenage Fanclub will ever be seen as overrated, but I do think Bandwagonesque exempts them from [Poor language removed] lists. Incredible record still in my rotation.
