I grew up in Florida and there were so many parents who made their kids root for the teams where they were raised, like Chicago or Pittsburgh or Boston or wherever. That doesn’t even count the pure glory hunters who latched on to the New York Yankees. I refuse to do that to my kids.
Growing up in this city many years ago , football was a family thing . You’d all go together until you were old enough to meet up with your mates .
Everton was and still is the glue that held our family together , in the quiet moments we talk about the blues . If there had been a gap between talking to siblings discussing the weekends game was always an excuse . Meeting up with those same siblings all over the country and much further afield to share sadness and joy . I’m delighted the club was never a choice and I wouldn’t change a thing .
