I'm sure i never learnt history when i was at school.

Only thing i honestly remember from history lessons was making the teacher cry and watching "The way we used to live" tapes.

Other subjects i'm fine but when it comes to history i know bugger all apart from one specialist subject (y)

Which is a shame cause theres a hell of a lot of awesome stuff to know.

I'm about to start a degree in history (y)

Favourite from school was the Russian Revolution. I'm really looking forward to learning more about medieval stuff though as we hardly covered that at school.

I had my exam on the history of medicine, I've never listened to such boring confusion, You had to basically remember every different era who where the gods of healing and all that stuff and what they used, what for and what happened. All i remember of 2 years is about the cowpox.

i read a lot of history books. (currently reading samuell pepys biography). i had a passion as a kid for reading about the anglo-saxons normans and the romans.

the era of the tudors is by far is the most interesting imo.15th -16th century.

another period i love reading about is the time of the anglo -chinese opium wars and the british east indian company.19th century fascinating stuff .

i also like reading about the build up to world war 1 right up till the end of world war 2.

the worst is slightly earlier than the opium wars - the birth of british industrial revolution. the world became a greedy more complicated place.

actually i missed one era i loved learning about as school . ancient greece and the greek mythology/gods. mount olympus , hades and all that jazz.

luckily for a young lad , about the same time i was getting interested i went to the pictures to watch clash of the titans.
