I knew Hughes a little from my time at LFC. I’d started having hamstring troubles and would be taken from school to Anfield for treatment of a lunchtime and Emlyn Hughes would invariably come into the treatment room after training to put Vaseline on his hair.

As I’ve posted before, he was always friendly and courteous to me.

Costa was one of them that I wished played for us though, you could see him bully our defence and just admire him for it.

Rush ruined many a weekend for me, but as a bloke and a footballer I could only dispise him for his ability. Bit like when Ferdinand played against us.

gerrard and suarez for me, just horrible both of them.
