Moscow U21 tournament

Full Squad: McAleny, Silva, Hope, Lundstram, Barrow, Forrester, Davies, Browning, Duffy, Nsiala, Bidwell, Forshaw, Wallace, Garbutt, Baxter, Taudul, Vellios, Mustafi.

Presumably our first choice XI will be:

Davies
Nsiala Mustafi Duffy Bidwell
Wallace Lundstram Forshaw Baxter
Silva Vellios
(Taudul, McAleny, Hope, Barrow, Forrester, Browning, Garbutt)

We've got some talented youngsters, but we're probably lacking genuine width and a strong central midfielder. Good luck to them though. I'm sure it will be an awesome experience.

I'm hoping that this means Moyes wants to take a closer look at Barkley and Wallace. I think they are both going to the US and then Wallace is off to Colombia for the World Cup in his age group.

Wallace was a reserve call up for the England U20 squad, that'll probably be why the OS haven't updated that he won't be travelling.

We seem to be looking at it as experience for the reserves rather than something that we want to win. Otherwise we'd be sending the likes of Gueye too. They're needed as part of the first-team squad though.

I heart the two strikers and dream of the day our first team starts with Vellios and Silva up front.

Nsiala has been impressive when i've seen him, i still think his best position is centre half though.

I think Hope will push them for a place and they might decide to play Baxter just off one of the big men too. The reserves were pretty dreadful last season. Maybe having been away as a group with the first team will hold them in good stead for a better campaign?

I don't think he'd get in ahead of Duffy and Mustafi in that position. I think Browning is the Academy right back who gets up and down the pitch pretty well, so Nsiala might have to be content with a place on the bench.

Good luck to the lads, would be a decent expierence.

I often wonder why the first team cant play against the like of Ajax etc in one of those pre season tournaments!
