Agree, £10mill and his £120k week wages off the books saves us £25mill for a player who isnt contributing a thing at the moment.

I think best we can hope for is is a loan with a view to buy end of the season.

Apart from a 5 month spell when he first signed for us he hasn't done anything for a season a half here and a season and a half at man utd.

For whatever reason only known to him, from the outside you'd say that's a player who hasn't been arsed enough to either push himself back into a managers thoughts or push for a move to find first team football

He will stand at £10.7million in the books if we did pay £24 million.

If he is on £120k a week we owe him £15.6 million in wages as he has 2.5 years left.
If he was offered £70k a week we would have to pay him £6.5 million to leave.

I’ve just vomited on my desk

The sad part is that I really think Silva thought he'd be part of his plans - when he described how he'd play depending on his No. 6 he called out Schneiderlin as playing a particular type of wall - and I'm sure he was thinking Calvalho or that single DM position. I'm sure it didn't take him much to realize although he's a decent passer, he's not athletic enough or frankly just good enough to be effective.
