Ok. Let's break this down then mate.

1) I pointed out 10th/13th is going backwards from 7th. That is going backwards. I dont like throwing out words like moron, but it would be moronic to say that is anything other than going backwards.

2) I say play for one of the best English midfielders of all time. Nobody could question that. Hes captained his team to the CL, and leagues, cups etc. This is just a fact mate, and for a young midfielder, it could be a pull.

It's not claptrap, it's just reality.

Who is Portugals greatest midfielder he is playing for? Bruno Lage?

3) Everton are much bigger than Wolves mate. They are not financially ahead of us, we have a bigger turnover. But yes, in our worst season in 20 years, they finished above us. In their worst season in the last 20 years, they were in the 3rd tier, a level Everton have never fallen to in our 144 year history.

4) Please enlighten me how me saying that finishing 10th/13th is lower than 7th. Saying that Lampard was a world class player, and saying Everton are a bigger club than Wolves has caused Everton's decline? Run that by how some bloke giving an opinion on a forum has caused it?

What you are saying doesnt make sense, and you have this nasty edge when you get corrected. But even I wouldnt say you have caused the decline. You're nowhere near significant enough to do that, and nor am I!

We are where we are, because we have an inept board, that cant grow revenues, or spend money effectively enough. It has nothing to do with what you, or I write on a forum.
OK... let's deal with this b/s.
1. No, you actually didn't and you actually failed to acknowledge which team had finished above the other the most in the last four seasons. Blinkered.
2. No, you said "play with". And I didn't say Portugal's "greatest midfielder" so stop with the b/s of putting words in my mouth.
3. Really. You think that. Look at the league table and the financial charts I gave a link to. Naturally, you're going back in history but it counts for diddly squat right now.
4. In your desperation to be right you are just repeating point 1. Fact is our recent record is pathetic and we have been surpassed by a team playing the Championship 5 years ago, Hard to take? That's the reality.

And none of the above gives me any pleasure to write but it's the reality. We have not even stagnated. We have gone so far backwards that other clubs are also passing us by.

Mate I have a very low opinion of Everton but if that was my attitude Jesus Christ I wouldn’t bother.

Do you have any idea what the club could do to rectify their awful position?

Also you seem to be very hostile to fellow blues why is this?

Not sure of a PL comparison, but I watched him a fair few times playing for Sheff utd last year. He is comfortable carrying the ball forwards from the middle and has a nice eye for a pass. Perhaps more importantly for us (if we play 4-3-3), he is really good playing on the right hand side of a front line. Lots of skill, hard-working and good vision, plus a good finisher.

He has to step up from the Championship of course, but when I was watching him, I did often think "I wonder if Wolves would entertain a bid for him, he'd be good for us."

Watching the clips on youtube he looks like he can play across the front behind the centre forward.

Touch of the Dele's about him and they may link up well.

1) I have acknowledge Wolves finished above us 3 out of 4 seasons. What I've also said is that it's an arbitrary deadline and an odd number. Like weve finished above each other once each in the last 2 years. We've finished above them more in the last 10 years. It feels like you are cherry picking a number to suit an argument.

But either way, it has no relevance to Wolves going backwards. 13th/10th is going backwards compared to 7th. What they do relative to Everton doesnt change that.

2) I'm not going to look back, but pretty sure the context is that he would be playing for one of the best midfielders in PL history. That clearly holds some sway for a player, or at least could hold some sway for a player, couldn't it?

Getting to play for say Gerrard, Rooney, Viera, Lampard etc does give those clubs a bit of a potential advantage.

As for putting words in your mouth, I'm trying not too, I'm trying to interpret your words. You mentioned about the alternative for MGW was playing for a great Portuguese midfielder. I'm not sure who you meant.

3) I dont think anything, I just observe the reality. Everton have bigger financial turnover then Wolves and have done every season for decades. Theres no think about it.

And yes I can read a league table, but I also know that basing club size on a singular league table doesnt make sense. It would make Manchester City the biggest team in the PL by some distance. But football is not just about the last year, or the last 4 or 5 years. Of course this counts for something. Not an enormous amount, but something.

4) I dont have any desperation to be right mate. I'm not even sure (barring the occasional factual mistake you've made) there is "right" or "wrong". People have different opinions.

The club in a broad sense has been in 20 years of stagnation. We had an anomalous season, where we fell substantially below our range of performance.

None of this mean Wolves have overtaken us in any meaningful sense. I asked you earlier, if team A has 96 points over 2 seasons and Team B has 98 points over 2 seasons, which team has overtaken the other? I'd be wanting clearer evidence in terms of what being over taken means.

I'm still awaiting how you think having an opinion on a football forum causes a football club to underperform? As opposed to say the execs not doing their jobs well enough. I'd be interested in the rationale for that.

Was Tom Cairney not ripping it up in the Championship at roughly the same age but couldn’t do it in the premier league. Bradley Dack too for a while but they were maybe a bit older. I’m sure there are plenty of examples to the contrary and I’m maybe not on point.

I’m just not sure about MGW. I remember wolves blooding him a few seasons ago but I’m not so sure he’s come up to the mark. £25m seems a lot for this kid.

I'm often at random games for work so managed to see him a few times last season, he stood out in that Sheffield Utd team. He reminds me of Ross Barkley, back when he was half decent for us..
The fact that you’ve watched him for 90 minutes live and he stood out is somewhat reassuring. I’ve only seen fleeting moments in the odd game on TV. If he’s made progress and last season was the breakout season then now could be the time to get him. It just has a tinge of the Solankes about it.
